A famly friend had been going through her elderly aunt's things stored in the attic. She came upon a bundle of letters, and one of them was this aunt's letter to a friend, with a description of a New Year's Eve Ball in VIENNA sometime in the 1910s! The letter included a description of the gowns, the dances, the young men vying for places on her dance card, the refreshments...wish I could remember the details. But in my virtual ball imagination, that's where I'll be!</p> <p>For our virtual party, I will probably wear a full tartan taffeta long skirt with a simple top (black velvet?).
