I am surprised there is not a crackle finish leather paint out there somewhere as I've seen that finish in everything else (paint, nailpolish) I'm tempted to metallicize my B.O.C. oxfords that I have yet to wear since they make me feel a bit clownish. The product design apparently hasn't changed since the early 70s and I can't vouch for its long-term effectiveness, but it claims to work on leather, plastic and vinyl specifically to change the color of shoes and luggage. The fumes were pretty deadly but I think it will go away. And I had $7, which I spent on leather spray paint (who knew such a thing existed) at a local store that sells leather goods for Native artists.</p> <p>Half an hour, a little toxic inhalation of fumes, and a lot of masking tape later, here's the result.
