It is definitely grease. Probably from the cheese on my roasted duck pizza. Yummy pizza but not worth a ruined skirt. Even with a sturdy cloth napkin in my lap.

I'm tempted to try the Dawn route Deborah linked to and dstalksalot mentioned but the friend right next to me said the cleaners told her the best thing to do is just leave it alone for them to work on. Must be a virgin stain is easier to remove.

My favorite new skirt and I've only worn it three times. Fingers crossed and thanks for commiserating with me.

Different stains need different approaches. If it is a grease or oil based stain, washing with dish soap is a good solution. This also helps get make up stains out of expensive purse linings which I have done in the past.

I thought I saw something about using chalk on grease stains - I think it was Pinterest where I saw this suggestion. Maybe it's worth a try? I hope you figure it out - that is so frustrating.

Grrrrr, don't you just hate when that happens-(( I'm sorry, P, Deborah's suggestion is definitely worth a try. I'm holding thumbs that the stains will come out completely.

On no! That is a beautiful skirt...found this on google...

"I rubbed a little dish soap right onto one of our most recent stains and let it sit for a little while before washing. I sent the shirt through the wash and didn't see a stain, so I went ahead and dried it too. Like magic, the stain was gone.

I even tried this trick on old stains — ones that had been washed and dried repeatedly — and the clothes came out as good as new. I could hardly believe it!

I think it must be something about the grease-busting properties of dish soap that makes this work. Whatever it is, I'm glad to know about it."

I haven't tried this myself but it could be worth a try? I wonder if you could spot clean the skirt using this method?

So tonight I wore my magenta pencil skirt out to dinner with girlfriends and ended up with three grease spots. I got some out by dabbing with a tissue. And yes, I did have a napkin in my lap. Grrr.
