I have this dress in black and I wore it to a gala a year ago last May. It has a great neckline and is very flattering on. I agree with the others that you'll need some type of jacket or cover-up for warmth. I wore mine with black satin peek- toe pumps, but was able to go without stockings due to the warmer weather. Can you pair it with some sheer stockings?

Lovely dress! Gorgeous neckline! I would wear it with a nice cardigan and sheer nude tights and pumps (not opaque tights).

Great dress--I had the same thought as Angie--maybe a jacket for day, to take off for the evening? This subject just came up on another post--you may get some ideas.

Hello ladies -- this is my first post! I'm attending a relative's second wedding in Boston in January - it is a church wedding at noon with small church reception and then an evening dinner party with immediate family group. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around what to wear for this all day/evening affair. I haven't been to a wedding in several years. I'm not planning to change clothing between the noon wedding and dinner.

I found a great Calvin Klein satin dress and bought it in both black and chocolate at Marshalls for $60 - the exact same dresses are currently at Macys for $178. I would wear a cashmere cardi or wrap over this for a January wedding. I. I would really really appreciate any input on this dress or advice on something else to wear. Also, can I wear opaque tights and pumps with this? If not, I may have to go with something else because it will be cold in January in Boston!

Here is a link to the dress in question:
