The initiative has collected over 100 000 boxes this year.</p> <p>As I have been shopping over the last few weeks, my kids have been a little... envious? The boxes are then distributed at parties to kids in orphanages. The first year, we did one box, the next year we did two and this year we did four boxes - one from each member of my family. My kids each chose a child of their own age and I chose a baby and DH chose a teenage boy. </p> <p>I decided to put a little extra effort into my baby's box and made a textured fabric lid. </p> <p>Handing over the boxes almost feels like the official start of the Christmas season. </p> <p>Do you have initiatives like this where you live and do you participate? </p>
