PS - I tried these Nine Wests they were quite comfortable in spite of a higher heel. They come in a variety of colors. I eventually returned them for the Jeffry Campbells which had more width. Nine West tends to fit a lower volume foot better (these were too long on me and a half size down would have meant the width was too tight).

I like all of the sandals I'm seeing here. I love the look of the Kelsi Daggers. Hopefully they have found another manufacturer in China. I purchased some gladiator style sandals a few years ago and they fell apart faster than a $10 pair of fabric slides I got at Ross. They were in the under $100 range and I see the price is $130 so maybe that extra amount is reflecting better quality. Anyway buying them from Nordstrom should make it a no-brainer given their generous return policy.

I love the Kelsi Dagger colorblock sandals, and from Angie's choices, the ivory Coconuts with the rivets and the ankle strap - if that would work with your delicate ankles. Those two pairs seem to cover a range of colors and moods. In fact, I kind of want them both too.

Shevia, I am glad you like the green pair. And I can't wait fro shoe shopping in Europe, yay!

Kathie, thank you for the endorsement of the first pair in navy.

Angie, wow, so many beautiful choices, thank you! I especially like those KP tube sandals and the Amalfi in white/silver. The wonders pair looks a lot like dance shoes, which is always good as those tend to be very comfy. Yes, I certainly want something in blush, and I wouldn't mind lilac either.

I would go for the Kelsi Dagger - streamlined, classic shape with great colors. Then I would wait for Europe. Second choice are the Sam Edelman in cognac - very versatile summer color.

Thank you all for your input, it is much appreciated! To clarify, I already own the first three pairs of shoes in the finds (navy VCs, tan SEs and taupe gladiators), and everything else is what I am considering.

Toban, yes, I have lived in DC area for 8 years now. I am very happy I can wear sandals to work for the first time. Yes, I will defintily get something silver.

Anchie, those sandals are gorgeous! Thank you for the reminder about Peter Kaiser, I will check their shoes, too, when in Vienna.

Carla, thank you for the recommendation on those PG sandals -based on what you say, they sound perfect for my needs. I hope that I manage to find them in stores.

Kathie, that sounds like an excellent plan - I will definitely see what I find in Europe first.

Angie, those shoes are all gorgeous - but I already have lots of closed toed summer shoes (some similar to the ones you posted), and want open-toed, because for the first time in 10 years, I can wear them to work and am eager to take advantage of that. Thus I am looking for sandals and open toes booties. I will definitely shop for shoes while in Europe. And, I already own the Franco Sarto Huttons in black - my nod to the slingback trend, they are very comfy.

Tanya, so the sandals in the Finds are the ones you have already?

How about closed-toe footwear with open heels that are NOT mules? Here's a visual idea.

I think you’ve got a nice variety, and I don’t see any duplicates in the ones you’re considering. I love PG sandals- got a pair 6 years ago that are similar to the ones you’re considering, and loved them. Personally, I’d start with the PGs, and other European brands, on your trip, and then fill in once you get back. And yes, they are much less expensive- I had a friend bring my latest pair back from Germany- it was nearly $100 price difference.

Tanya, I have the PG block heel sandals in your first pic, where the ankles are crossed, and they are incredibly comfortable. Like you, I have skinny ankles, and they fit well on the smallest fitting. I ordered them on the European online site and they were much better priced than US. Highly recommend.

Hi Tanya, didn’t realize you were also in DC! My sandal collection expanded drastically when I moved to DC 9 years ago. It’s been a very fun part of my wardrobe and I wear them almost exclusively to work May through August. I look forward to see how you bring them into your work wardrobe. I think the taupe or silver would be very versatile in your wardrobe to start building. Perhaps one neutral and one a bit more colorful?

I’m a shoe enabler and to me they all look different. I’m intrigued by the blue/green sandals. They have been tempting me.

After quite a few years of not being able to wear open-toed shoes at work, the rules at my current job are different - open-toed shoes, including sandals are fine and many women wear them. In the past, I would buy a couple pairs of casual sandals once every few years - the last time I've done that is 2014, so I am really overdue for update. I will probably also buy one new pair of casual sandals for errands etc. but my focus are work appropriate open toed shoes - I feel like kid in a candy store and want to make up for the past years.

I like open-toed booties and tried the famous Paul Green Cayennes that many Fabbers have, but they don't work on my narrow ankles, the shoe opening is too large resulting in the dreaded flower pot effect. The same happened with some other versions from other brands, so I have given up on actively searching for summery booties. I did buy the Vince Camutto Lavette in navy (Find #1), even though they have been around for a while, I hope they are still relatively current because I really like the style.

I would like to buy a couple of pairs of dressier leather sandals for work, specifically block heels in 1-2.5" heel height range. What I have from before that I think is still current enough are tan Trinas (#2) and taupe gladiator sandals (#3). I intend to order the silver Camper sandals ((#4) soon because I need at least one very comfy pair for my upcoming trip to Europe. Part of my trip will be spent in Vienna, Austria, which is the home of Paul Green brand, and I intend to shop for PG sandals/shoes there as they are supposed to be priced much lower than in US. I am interested in the black pair in the finds and navy pair on the photo. I am also attracted to the green KD and taupe/white Aquatalia in finds, too.

So, I am at a bit of loss how to do this in organized manner. Are the sandals I like too similar too each other? What other types of sandals are trending now ( I can not do mules or slides)? How would you prioritize the process - I can probably get two pricier options, especially if I get PGs in Austria, but then everything else would need to be hunted on sale after I am back ( end of June). We can easily have 5 months of open-toed shoes weather here in DC, and I do like variety, so I am hoping to build a nice collection, but of course can not do it all at once in a single summer.
