I like the idea of trying white jeans in a flared style (I have old Paige white skinnies, and the BR cream straight legs), but I'm not actively looking for more denim. I just thought those might be a likely candidate for me, and with the sale and my credit. The thigh seemed to show every lump and bump on my leg, and thicker jeans don't do that. A shame, since I liked the dramatic flare, and they were long enough for me to wear with heels! The fit in the hip was good too. It's difficult to find white pants/jeans that aren't too thin, isn't it? &nbsp;</p> <p>I see the gapping on the Valery sandal too, but mostly when looking up close and from that one angle at the front. I think the way I was standing to take the photos (leaning forward a bit, bending at the ankle) was emphasizing it too. But it doesn't drive me to distraction, especially when viewed from further away. I have enough trouble finding strappy shoes and sandals that *don't* gap on my foot that this amount is not a deal-breaker to me. That piece is actually attached to the back of the shoe with a hidden piece of elastic -- it might even be possible for a good cobbler to tighten that a little.&nbsp;</p> <p>I'm inclined to keep both, after giving them both a bit more of an in-house test. I was particularly curious what everyone would think of the blue Zeldas, so I'm excited you all like them. Crossing my fingers that they work out comfort-wise. Well, this year I discovered I had an extra Shopbop credit that was set to expire soon, so I pulled the trigger during their sale last week to try a couple of new pairs that I had been eyeing. So basically, these have been paid for for a year! ;-)</p> <p>1. (Pics 1-7h Derek Lam cobalt blue slides. Simple and casual. Love love love the color, and this is a much better fit on my narrow feet than Birks, even though they have that easy slip-on look. The top of the vamp is a little stiff on the top of my foot, but in a little walking around the house, I think that will ease up. More testing to come.</p> <p>2. (Pics 8-14) United Nude heeled sandals. Incredibly comfortable right out of the box. Perfect heel height for me -- walkable yet flattering. They are just on the brink of being long enough -- the photos show where my toes end up after walking around a little -- right at he edge. UN does not make half sizes, so going up a half size is not an option. I'm inclined to keep, as my toes never seem to shift forward enough to hang over the edge at all. But I will test more to be sure. </p> <p>What do you think? Not styled, they were just put on while I'm getting dressed, and I rolled my pants gems to show the shoes better in the pics.</p> <p>PS I tried the white Paige flares too. Not sure about those. Thighs are snug (of course, sigh) and that's even with sizing up so waist is big. Might try again before returning. </p>
