I'm all fingers and thumbs, and have enormous admiration for anyone who can create beautiful things with their own two hands (be it painting, knitting, needlework, sculpting...).

I love it that we get to see your work on YLF, and that best friends pillow with the back of the two girls' heads on the back of the pillow is such a great find!!

(and what a touching gesture San, that dish towel you made for Angie!)

San, you are so handy! I’m much impressed with your sewing skills. Those very heartfelt gifts are enchanting and endearing to say the least. Big pat on your back! The best friends cushion is so unique!

Let me tell you YLF’ers that when San and I met, she gifted me with a fabulous embroidered dish towel that read “Angie’s kitchen” and below the embroidery of a sweet pea, it read “sweet pea”. It brought a tear to my eye. Know that I love that dish towel San and that I think of you every time it graces my kitchen. I too have been fortunate enough to be the recipient of your sewing talents.

San-
Many years ago a group of us started a quilt group we called Circle of Friends. At the time, a few of us were already well acquainted, but since we started we have seen each other through raising kids, marrying kids, sick family members, and grandkids. We truly are a very close Circle of Friends. We have such a good time at our monthly meetings, and sometimes we even sew!

Oh good Susan, I can't wait to see pictures, maybe even with a little model in the quilt. I adore quilts, can't get enough looking at them. Do you belong to a quilt guild or group of some kind? What are the foot warmers? Yes I drool over batiks too.
Christine I am amazed at you making PJ's and quilts for your children. When my kids were little I quit sewing because of all the distraction. I really appreciate sewers who can keep it up even with so much going on around them. I really have to have quiet and concentration. I also love using flannel because it is so nice to touch. The rag quilt I made is mostly flannel. I hope you will send pictures too.

Oh what a great question. You know we sewers and crafters want to talk about what we have made. Pictures please ladies!!!
I have made a rag quilt for MIL. 2 pillows with grand daughter and her best friend's faces printed on the fabric on the front of pillow and the back of their head on the back of pillow. I am not finished yet with a patchwork pillow, and a wall hanging that is the "stained glass" quilted fabric. I'll post pictures. I love to show off what I've made. Are you like me and get totally emotionally invested in what you make? It's going to take me a few minutes to upload the pictures to photobucket.

I made my boys matching pj bottoms (in a pattern, bought solid color t-shirts to go with). I also made them each a patchwork quilt for watching TV out of the same flannel I used for the pjs & a solid, co-ordinating flannel. They are so snuggly! I'm so happy I finished them last night. I had plans for more sewing, but it just didn't happen.
