I was getting a lot of looks and I felt self concious. However since then I have decided that it was more that I had paired the wrong top with them. (I had rushed out of the house) It was an empire babydoll thing and it was a bit big for me, and probably not long enough. (my two college age sons and I all take the same size jeans at the moment!). The first time I wore them just as jeans, without boots, I was a little self-conscious, to be honest. </p> <p>But do you find you try something, and see how it feels? And I noticed how well the jeans balanced some of my tops...and also, say with a trench coat when I have more volume on the bottom, it's a nice look to have the skinny legs. I hardly ever wear dresses...my legs have some aging signs...like veins and stuff...so boots and tights are needed, but sometimes I say the heck with it and show them any way! </p> <p>With a more sophisticated jacket, I hope skinny jeans are still age appropriate.
