But, having had fibromyalgia for years and years, I know how bad you can feel. My most bothersome symptom was chronic and severe back pain (I was even hospitalized for it. And they prescribed a back brace, which didn't help at all. In fact, I think it made everything worse.) Poor quality sleep (never getting to the REM stage) contributes a lot to the misery. Finally found out that the one prescription that really cleared up everything was a very low dose antidepressant. Sleep well, back spasms don't develop into disasters, head doesn't ache every day....&nbsp; I never felt depressed, but one little pill a day does the trick on all those fibro symptoms. I think it adjusts an over-active nervous system or something like that. The&nbsp;things that helped me significantly were getting on&nbsp;specific thyroid medications. (Armour and Cytomel, if you're wondering; Synthroid made all my symptoms worse. I have the autoimmune disease Hastimoto's Thyroiditis.) And&nbsp;strangely enough...&nbsp;exercise. I&nbsp;I find the endorphin rush really helps manage the pain. In fact, I almost have to exercise daily. Nothing intense like circuits or P90X.&nbsp;I walk, do light yoga/stretches, self myofascial massage (rolling on a foam roller), and lift weights. That and meds, and I live almost pain free and feel good.&nbsp;If I get lazy with either one, I get so achy I can't sleep, work, or do anything but toss and turn. It is very painful.</div><div><div><br />I've found some studies that link fibromyalgia with hypothyroidism and autoimmune diseases, which includes Hashimotos (hypo form) and Graves (hyper form.) Worth getting your thyroid blood panel done to see if you have any issues.&nbsp;</div><div><br /><b>Rachylou</b>, I didn't have health insurance until a year or two ago. Today is the first day I haven't felt like death warmed over. From the new bangs I progressed to cutting in more layers, and curled it today. Came out really well!!
