Well at least I know it's happened to others and I'm not the only one. How crazy that when you go to buy shoes you need to ask for multiple pairs of the same size! I do this with jeans and it drives me bats in the dressing room.
I bought these during L&T's recent big shoe sale, but (of course) this pair was not on sale (don't you hate when that happens?). They didn't have my size in the store so they ordered them, I went home and found them on sale at samedelman.com, called L&T and had them price adjust. I suppose it's as easy as calling them back and having them re-ship this size and the half size up, but still it's a hassle. At least the shipping was fast the first time - two days.

Yes you can see it in the photo! You would expect the all black to visually look smaller too. Angie did provide some tips for stretching shoes, however, it is probably best to return them. This is such a shame as the black and white version is very attractive.

Yes, it happened with the Cole Haan pointy toe flats I tried recently. I bought a pair in the store that fit nicely. I was undecided about them, and they were full price. I ordered some online that were on sale in a different color and different leather, and they fit smaller in the same size. (I ended up not keeping either of the pairs.)

Is the next size available to try for comparison?

It is often a good idea to try several pair of the same shoes in the same size to come up with a pair that fits well. My DSIL can drive a shoe salesman batty asking for all the shoes they have in her size in that color and style to be brought out. Then she tries them all to find the best for each foot. There are always differences in the fit of the same size.
I had this problem last year with some Gap sweaters. Same sweater, different color, different length and fit. So frustrating.

It's all about the manufacturing process, tolerances on cutting, sewing, etc. sounds like SE is lacking in the quality control department. I have seen this, more in clothes than shoes. The same pair of pants, same color, same style can fit very differently based on where it was in the huge pile when the fabric was cut.

I have two pair of Okalas and there's a small size difference between them. My pony hair black and white pair are a tiny bit smaller in the toe box than my golden (latté) ones. I had to "break in" the pony hair ones with several wears, whereas the gold ones were comfy straight out of the box.

I can see the difference in yours for sure. So frustrating. In mine it's not so pronounced but it is definitely there.

Bizarre but I can see the difference. I would expect the black to photograph smaller, it looks bigger here.

Yes, I've had this happen especially when they are in different materials. It's weird and frustrating when the exact item is inconsistently sized to your foot! The new ones are beautiful. I hope you can find a pair in the next size up.

If you love the shoe and it's still available, I'd just try ordering a pair in this size (in case of mislabeling) and another a half size up (in case it runs small).

Aida, it is frustrating, isn't it? I have had also had it happen with my favorite Gap jeans. I haven't had it happen with SE's shoes, though. I actually really like the brand. They tend to make their shoes a little narrower with helps my slightly narrow feet.

If I didn't think my toes looked a little squished in the smaller pair, I'd be tempted to keep them as they are tighter and my foot feels more secure.

I hate that! Yes I've had that happen several times, usually in lower or mid price points. It's a little weird that SE would have that though; perhaps the printing process shrinks the leather?

(My husband persistently has this problem with the jeans he likes; can't get consistency between pairs with the same wash in the same style in the same size from the same brand -_-)

I love my Okalas (solid black) so when they went on sale I thought I'd get them in a pattern. They arrived today and the fit of the new pair (black/white patterned pair) is definitely smaller. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the toe box is tighter. The ankle stamp also has to be set one notch looser. They are both marked 8.5 M, and they even both came from the same store. The bigger pair did not stretch out either, they have always fit that way.

I'm wondering if one of the two pairs is mislabeled or if it's just inconsistent sizing. Have you ever had this happen? It's so annoying!
