Those are almost my exact dimensions too! Do you find it difficult to find flattering clothes for our body type? It seems most women have skinny little waists and gain weight in hip and thigh area and therefore most clothes are designed for them. I have great legs to show off but my darn tummy...does anyone have any other suggestions of good styles to wear for our body type?
I mean empire waists are great but I don't want to look like I'm wearing maternity wear!

Wow, would never have thought that. I just assumed I was pear shaped since the width of my hips are slightly larger than my shoulders. I'll re-evaluate my wardrobe. Next time I shop I'll try on clothes for the apple shape. Thank you so much!

I don't think that you are pear shaped. You sound like an apple shape to me.

Actually, recently I have been purchasing a size 12 pant and size 14 top. The size 12 fits great in the hip area but is a little tight in the waist. If I buy a size 14 pant I have to have them altered in the hip and top leg area.

I wear the same size on the top and bottom with most of my weight between my waist and hip bone (across the stomach).

Do you wear different sizes on top and on the bottom? Where do you carry most of your weight?

My bust is 42", waist is 35" abdomen (4 inches below waist") is 41 and my hips are 39. I have small shoulders which makes my hips look slightly wider than my shoulders (pear?). I cannot figure out what length jacket I should wear. Help!!!!!
