VERY intriguing. I’d love to know where she worked.

If you wore the same dress in a fortnight in the fashion industry you’d hear about it!

Thanks for sharing this, Nicole. I found it highly interesting although I've only read the frequently asked questions section so far. Several things I found interesting...
She says:

But on a feminist note, let's stop agreeing that the best way for women (in particular) to "express themselves" is by purchasing new wardrobe items and putting together daily outfits.

Of course, I don't agree that the *best* way for all women to express themselves is their outfits. But it is a valid way to express themselves. And if you're in the fashion industry or super passionate about fashion, maybe it is the best way-- it's your art (just like she says about the brown dress). (per Angie's psychology article)

I cannot believe that her coworkers did not notice that she wore the same dress every day. That would be absolutely amazing. Of course she did not say where she worked.

Lastly, I find it ironic that by the end of the page, I was feeling that by wearing the brown dress, she actually was still expressing herself and her style. Her feminism is confusing style and consumerism which are two completely different things. I think that the reason we all choose different outfits to express ourselves is fundamentally the same reason she chose to wear the brown dress to express herself. It's just that what she is expressing is radically different than what others may want to express with their clothing.

If I'm not understandable, I apologize. The more I think about this brown dress idea, the more I think it's hilarious.

Angies blog today (about giving up shopping for a year) reminded me of a story I read about a woman who wore the same brown dress for one full year. This might be an interesting point discussion.
