You may recognize this outfit as being from the late 1980s.&nbsp;</p> <p>One of the biggest dress up events of my life! The opening gala for the new Fairmont Hotel.</p> <p>We went to NM and DH found this dress. It was a sample--I thought too flashy for me until I tried it--perfect fit. it was the most expensive dress I'd ever owned. Worn with a rhinestone necklace and earrings from Nordstrom. At the event the local fashion/society editor interviewed us and published our comment in her article. This event was the first in a series of annual &nbsp;Silicon Valley Ball fundraisers.</p> <p>I wore the dress 6 times over the next 2-3 years, reducing the price per wear to a somewhat reasonable amount.&nbsp;</p> <p>I had another outfit by this designer Judy Hornby, whose vintage dresses are still for sale on Etsy. </p> <p>Bring out the champagne!&nbsp;</p> <p> </p>
