Thanks everyone!

BR sloans seem to be the popular choice. I'm sadly between two dress sizes there so if I were getting it, I'll purchase the larger size and take in the legs/hips. The smaller size fit well but gave me a massive muffin. The larger size was muffin-free but sagged a lot on the bum.

Thanks all!

i like the BR sloans, and they are great for business casual, just a note, i had to have the waist taken in.
if you are looking for something a little dressier (ie your mention of job interview), i recommend jcrew wool suiting -the stovepipe is a great skinny leg with just a smidge of stretch and the wool keeps them in shape. available in 3 lengths.

Hrm... My body type is a bit different (Butt - check, Hips - check), but here goes. I sized down in all three.

I have a pair of J.Crew Minnies that are well cut and fit well. I love the side zipper, keeps things nice and smooth in front. I have found that they do grow a bit over the course of the day.

Just bought a pair of BR Sloans, though I haven't worn them yet. I can vouch for the great fit and very substantial material.

Also, for a narrow-leg dress pant that is cheap and cheerful, I am ridiculously happy with these:
http://www.rickis.com/by-categ.....CSTBL.html They wouldn't work for tucking, but they fit nicely and keep their shape really well.

I have had good luck with the BR sloan ankle pant - no sagging, but I find they run about a size big for me - had to size down - ordered in a long and they longer than an ankle pant -31" on the long-- looks great with a heel

BR Sloans! And Anthropologie's Cartonnier Charlie fit.

Both seem to have great stretch recovery (no sagging) and enough room for a backside while still keeping a slim leg. Love the low rise for tucking and faux tucking.

After my last very disappointing experience with the Gap Ultra Skinnies, I thought I'd ask around for recommendations on slim cut dress pants. I'd really like to know which brands work for you so I can set out and try them on. Since these are dressy basics (aka they will only be seen in job interviews and potential Business casual work environments in my career future), I'm willing to be patient and wait until I can purchase the best pair.

So here's my criteria:
- no knee bagging or saggy butt syndrome. This is tough as it might be a body type thing. I'm thick-waisted with small hips, a booty and slim legs.
- can be ponte or stretchy material but it can't feel too polyestery
- can tuck in fluid shirts or faux tuck drapey knitwear (a la Angie)
- black
- I don't mind a slightly cropped look as they will be worn with heels and booties
- low rise but if there's a contoured waist in the back, even better.
- under $150. I'm willing to spend for a great pair of dress pants

Thanks ladies!
