Welcome to my world Ramya I've never had a bubble butt and would have loved one. I am sadly a fully paid up member of the flat arse club! Always have been.... I echo what others have said. You can have them taken in down the centre back seam. Funny how it changed with pregnancy, as mine stayed exactly the same. Maybe you just lost some weight off there running around after DD.

Chiming back in to agree with the other ladies. Yes, if you have them taken in too much, the pocket placement will look a weird. I only ever have a bit taken in, and it seems to be OK. Ultimately you're going to end up replacing your old jeans with new ones, and you can get ones to better fit your shape as it is now.

Having said that, my bum did not change shape after pregnancy. I buy jeans meant for straight types, and they fit pretty well, but even then sometimes I need the seat taken in. It is what it is.

Taking it in at the middle seam is a short-term fix. As the daughter of a seamstress, and a recent loser-of-weight-and-butt, this is true fact. Sure you can get a proffesional to do this but, more often than not, it looks odd, and even if you can't tell, anyone with any form of an eye for sewing WILL know. And it costs money you could save for a new pair - Plus they will not suit your new behind the same anyway!

You need new jeans.

Great jeans.

Flattering new-you jeans

Jeans that will last through any other body changes - because le buttom may or may not go back to it's old shape, so do keep a pair of jeans that are a little big, just in case.

Unless you post pictures I cannot tell you how much would need to be taken in. If it's maybe an inch or less, they would not look too bad, but any more than that and the result will likely not be what you are looking for, and it's a temporary fix anyway.

I was going to suggest to go out and try several new-to-you brands/designa untile you identify what is flattering for you, but greycat said it better.

I had a similar problem after a weight loss. My formerly pear shaped body no longer filled out the curvy cut of jeans I was accustomed to buying. The good news is that you will be able to wear brands that didn't fit your former body. The bad news is that is takes a LOT of trial and error to find your new favorites.

Doing an alteration like Aziraphale suggests will help in the short term for jeans you already own. I did this as a stop gap measure once I found a really good seamstress. A word of caution, if too much is taken out of the back seam the pocket placement and spacing can look odd. A good seamstress will talk you through this.

When looking for new jeans at retail I suggest trying brands that never worked for you before. Brands that have a straighter cut. I still carry my weight in my thighs, although my butt has slimmed down. Prior to weight loss Ann Taylor curvy and Talbots were my best fits. Now, I have good luck with the Gap Girlfriend cut, KUT from the KLOTH boyfriend, some Banana Republic and Jcrew cuts. Lucky brand also has a good variety of cuts to choose from. You can try several and see what fits your new shape.

Good luck!

Easy fix! Have the seat taken in at the centre seam. (I do this all the time, because my bottom almost never fills out the jeans). The only downside is that it costs a bit more than hemming -- my tailor charges $20, I think.

I have always been a curvy pear, so my "rear" always filled up my jeans. Now post pratum my body has changed. I am still curvy but have lost my bubble butt(sorry ) . All my existing jeans or the jeans I try now give me the saggy rear syndrome where in there is just too much free material at the rear. Can you guide me here?
What kind of jeans should I go for? Am I approaching the fit wrong here? I can't be the only one facing this right?
