I also have triathlon-specific bike shorts that have a thinner chamois and are comfortable for running -- I wear these only during triathlons and workouts where I go immediately from biking to running (bricks). </p> <p>The Athleta contender shorts are excellent for running and I love the large side pocket on mine. I like bright, too. For cycling, I have padded shorts (new because my last ones ran into a spot of bother with the bike chain in a very slow fall) and super high viz helmet and super high viz jacket. Janet and RC recommended padded shorts a couple of years back (thank you Janet and RC) and they will keep me going on a bike miles longer than unpadded. Since my wildcard bike purchase, and lack of proper preparation sprint tri (running on treadmill isn't = to running in humidity), I've been taking workouts outside! </p> <p>My rural, (mostly) flat area is good for biking. The main roads have wide bike lanes, but the side roads don't. And much of my gear is dark. So-I'm brightening up! </p> <p>The pockets will be better for running than the bum bag, plus I won't be as self conscious at yoga-assuming they work.</p> <p>Probably should look at my SUP stuff in the safety light too-so Santa on the jet ski doesn't run over me :)</p> <p>Feel free to share your outdoor workout gear too, and any other ideas! </p>
