The red is definitely warmer (both more orange and a bit more brown) than any red top I've owned in a while.</p> <p>I have a feeling that the drape and sheen of the bronze one probably has something to do with the dye used and how it interacts with the fiber. I was at a sheep and wool festival yesterday and noticed that many mustard-coloured yarns had a slightly silkier handfeel than other colours, even when the fiber itself was identical. Very interesting.</p> <p>I have a feeling the yarn for the bronze sweater above is mercerized and the rust is not. Pure speculation here -- perhaps it's more difficult to get yellow dyes to bond to the fiber? I remember <b>Chris985</b> had trouble with a mustard sweatshirt over the summer that was not colorfast at all...</p> <p>The lighting in my house changes pretty drastically this time of year. Those pictures were taken at the same time of day, but a couple weeks apart. The “ ochre “ is , as being more neutral- I can’t assess the texture well- is more sophisticated or workwear-like and is a good neutral with black, and might be more versatile. I really like the bronze one- the drape, fit, and color. I was actually surprised that they’re the same sweater, because the drape looks so different, even in the model photos. The lighting is quite different in your two pictures, so it’s hard for me to judge how well either works with your skin tone. It would be very useful to have a sweater in the red family again and I already have a mustard-y layering top from last year. I'm very torn! </p>
