Staysfit I guessing your performance and needs are so high above my it would be hard to compare!! I've just gone back, after a knee problem, to running 5km (usually with my daughters) and have been given the go ahead to train for a 10km, but I am having walking breaks in my long runs still.

I used to be like that you about gear, but a couple of summers ago, when I had a few weeks off, I discovered my previous running skirt was quite handy for casual summery outings. I worked through last summer, but this time plan to have a few weeks off after Christmas and find that long, with no work clothes, a bit of a stretch for my casual summer wardrobe, which, as Beth Ann said, is quite small. So a skirt that can do double duty would be helpful.

Beth Ann I tried to order both, only to discover that the blue was was out of stock. So the floral one is coming my way.

(thanks for the compliment re the running shot. It only rained the last 5 minutes of the race so we weren't that tough!)

Glad you're trying both -- it's a bit of a pain to pack up and return something, but I know you keep your wardrobe small, so the best fit and length matter most!

(And I love that shot of you running in the rain -- you look great, and really tough, too!)

Anne, I have purchased from them also, but please follow your intuition here. My use of the item was purely as gear so I didn't need coverage, I needed performance. I don't mix gear into my everyday wear, ever. My gear is heavily used and worn. (Hence my screen name, Staysfit. )

I have checked the site. They do free returns, so I can order both!

My running tops would work for both I think.

I prefer more coverage too Janet, but I just can't wear running capris in our hot weather. And my current running shorts look pretty awful!

I like the blue. How does it work with your running tops?

I kinda wish I could wear those, but on me, more leg coverage looks better.

Thanks for all your input. Especially from Brooklyn - having bought from that company already. I think I agree with you on the getting the longer skirt.

I appreciate Staysfit point - but I think my last running skirt was on the longer side and I didn't have a problem with it. Also, in contrast to Donna's but along with Brooklyn- I do want to wear it for other things.

I do prefer the floral by a tiny bit, but appreciate GF's point "flower placement"! I'll check the return policy - presumably not every skirt will have the exact same placement.

I love running skirts and would prefer either in the longer length. My personal choice for me is the purple floral. But you cannot miss with either one.

I like the blue for you. It seems like a "fast" pattern IFKWIM.

Also I think it looks less like a regular skirt which is my own preference for my running skirts.

Wow. This is tough decision. It is rare that I like both equally well and can't make up my mind as to which one is prettier. My first impression was the floral because I am attracted to those colors and the design. I am going with my first impression although I really like both equally.

Having just read Staysfit comment, I am now leaning toward the blue. I am not a runner so I had no idea about length considerations, but what she said makes absolute sense to me.

I hadn't heard of running skirts until Brooklyn told me about this brand. I haven't bought one, though!
The blue pattern looks light and summery. Do you still have tops to coordinate, or are you replacing them, too?
I think Staysfit has a good point about selecting the right length for you. I'll look forward to seeing your choice and how it works for you.

Whichever you get, you will be happy. They are very durable and last a long time. I like the floral pattern but I like flowers. It isn't because it's long. As a marathon runner, I would pick the shorter skirt. The longer skirt falls at an awkward spot, and is likely to ride up too much when running. These skirts usually don't chafe but over many miles anything can happen.

I have some skorts from this company and I personally like the happy girl skirt (longer length). It is mid thigh on me (I am tall but most of my height is in my torso). And I like a bit of coverage as I wear mine for casual activities as well as the gym. I prefer the first pattern but that's personal of course and it depends what sorts of tops you have to go with it. If you preferred the blue you could always get that pattern in the happy girl skirt length. Do you need any measurements Anne? I am happy to measure mine for you.

Probably the longer design is a bit more versatile.

Colourwise they both would work. My girls favour the blue one, but the flowery one attracted my attention.

I've been keen to buy another running skirt since I lost my last one, and am thinking of stepping up the style and not just going with plain navy this time.
