I like pink, but prefer a brighter, clearer version -- not bubblegum but closer to fuchsia or even magenta. I do own a blush sweater, though. Blush leopard print!! I'd like to add more pink to my closet and I also really like lavender and would add more. Oh, and clear red. :)

Pink is always on my shopping list. It goes w everything in my wardrobe, and I often find I like it as a layering piece instead of white.

I do agree it’s important to find “your pink”. Rose is usually too faded for me, but I love the idea of pairing it with some other nature inspired colors.

I like dusty pink. It’s close to rose but maybe a little browner.

I actually don’t have any, except in prints. I’m terrified of adding new colours because they always present colour mixing challenges to me. I’m stressed out by colour mixing!

But if I did add it I would try to combine it with olive green, black and ivory. Like this photo, which I keep for inspiration in case I finally take the plunge!

thank you Sal! I like how you created a mini blush capsule! the scarf is a fab idea to mix the new colour with the colours that you already have, I might try to find a similar scar as well!

Thanks Jane, I think the scarf is a great way to introduce a new colour... will try! Glad I am not the only one who likes the pink germaline!!!

thanks Lynne! I will try with greys as well, I think you are right, the trick is to find the right shade of pink!

thanks Cat2! I think sometimes it is important to live with the colour, thank goodness you didn't purchase an expensive item!

thanks AJ! love the jacket that you bought! Interesting combinations with olive and light blue!

Not typically a pink gal, but I have surprised myself by adding three mauve colored items.

I plan to pair these with light blue, navy, olive, grey and black. I also have lilac cords and lavender sneakers to wear with the jacket.

I try a new color in an inexpensive top like a shell and then decide whether it works. I ended up loving ballet pink and giving lilac and ice blue a pass, which is not at all what I expected going in.

I really like a soft warm pink. Kind of germaline colour pink.

I find this a really flexible colour, it seems to go with everything including red, and so read as quite neutral. I have a blouse at the moment in this colour.

When seeking a new colour addition I might buy a scarf or top, and see how I get on with it.

I like it too Minaminu and find it versatile. I had a rose puffer but I ended up giving it to a friend who expressed a like for it. Spontaneous decision but the right one!!

I only have a small collection of plain pieces in blush or rose, but a few with the colour in a pattern.

I like the jacket - really good with all your neutrals and good as a lighter colour in the winter.

Thanks Nemosmom! Very helpful posts! Thank you for sharing!

Janet, I agree that the beige / blush palette has been ubiquitous for quite sometimes, hence the hesitation. you made a valid point that those colours are usually rare and should be bought when available!

RunCarla, thanks for sharing the picture! It's a very soothing combination!

Jaileen, glad to hear that you have a similar colour palette and that pink works well for you!

Kkards, I think the right shade of pink is indeed very important, I once had a pink coral jacket and it worked well but it felt too loud for me. So, I am hopeful for this soft pink/old pink!

Angie, good to know that blush is a good neutral in your wardrobe. Also, thank you for writing all those useful posts, much appreciated!!!!

Rachylou, Kate has a fab eye for colour! The pink suit that she wears in the pic is from M&S! Hope you will find a fab pink that you'll love forever!

It’s a pretty color. I say enjoy it and stock up while it’s trending if it’s one you love!

However, I’m personally tired of pink/blush and shades of yellow and beige everywhere at retail — it seems like we’ve been stuck in that palette for a year or more. Those are all colors I’m not drawn to, nor do they flatter me, unless they are in a print with other colors that I wear better. But I remember that pale pinks were rare for years, so I firmly believe in buying those colors you love when they trend and continuing to wear them long after, despite trends.

Minaminu I made pink my 'Colour for 2020' and have deliberately added pink into my wardrobe in 2020 and have an issue for 2021 because I have loved pink so much, I am not sure if I am ready to give it up just yet.

As Fashintern mentioned, I added a violet bag to my wardrobe and built a complement around it (which I previously posted). I have the bag and co-ordinating items in finds below. To be honest, I have so many more items that I wear with this - I will often do a column of white, black or grey and then add this bag to liven things up. Your jacket will have a similar impact.

Your rose jacket is beautiful and a great purchase.

You have just explained why I’ve been so drawn to ballet pink, although this is a color I typically shy away from. I’ve been wearing it with another color I’m usually careful about—solid black. I’m amused to hear that idea didn’t just spring into my head ex nihlo either.

I have a puffer vest (fleece-lined, with faux fur trimmed hood), skinny pants, “granny” cardi, and gym shorts in the shade. I want to get a ski sweater (body con) in it, but then spend time playing with these items before getting more.

Angie blogged about adding in a new color. If you can find that post (I’m on my phone so can’t search), I think you’ll find several good ones by other members. The one that sticks out in my mind is by Bijou, but I’m fairly certain there are more.

Looking forward to seeing you in your rose with neutrals.

ETA your title reminded me of this song. When I was growing up, we used to sing it on long car rides, like the 11 hours to my grandma, who remembered singing it around the piano when she was young, over 100 years ago now. We sang it just like this, with the “aw poor bird” harmony. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wwhYGlkj1ro

I love this colour (I call it blush) with cinnamon. It is one of my colours. Will be beautiful with navy and/or grey. This is a timeless combination imo.

...and more rose! It's almost impossible not to find an advert or land on Pinterest pictures with soft rose colours. I think it's become an appealing colour as it is very soothing and feminine and can imagine that a lot of people will be attracted to this colour this year! Even the Duchess of Cambridge has fallen for it, and she wears it beautifully. And "I joined the rose team" with this reversible puffer jacket in pink and cream.

My wardrobe has a simple palette, mainly black, navy, cream and grey - I have been thinking of adding rose for a while and was even considering a pink trousers suit but I am now having second thoughts as I worry I am falling for a trend, although I can see the longevity by wearing the trousers and blazer separately.

How about you? Any pink or rose lovers (or any other new colours that you find appealing?) ? I'd be interested to learn how you incorporate a new colour to a wardrobe. RunCarla wrote some interesting posts on regards but the more wisdom you share, the better!
