The outfit is great on you. I really like that kind of diffuse print, and the pink is a lovely color on you. I like your matching wine accessory, too. I can sympathize somewhat with how you feel about a changing body. I had to stop swimming due to a shoulder injury, but I ran instead. Then I had to stop running for a few months because of a foot problem (which is healing now, thankfully), and I feel like I'm in someone else's body. Nothing fits right anymore. I can still wear many of my clothes, but a lot of them don't look or feel the same. Hope your surgery goes well!

You look lovely in that skirt outfit. Very summer and fresh and flattering too!

Sorry that your hip status is painful and disrupting your routine. I broke my foot 3 months ago and surgical complications have turned a 3 month recovery into 6 months. While my size has not changed, I am not the same shape I was when it happened and I feel your pain, missing my active lifestyle. Trying to be as patient with myself as I would urge others to be under the circumstances.

On a brighter note, I have heard nothing but amazing results from hip replacement. The phrase "new lease on life" is what I have heard from 2 people recently.

Sending you all good wishes for comfort and a solution. Take care of yourself.

Sorry about the impending hip replacement, but I know a lot of people who feel SO much better afterwards. But I understand completely how frustrating it is to be restricted in your activity! It's maddening. Did you ever go to look at new bikes?

I would never know that your fitness routine is off kilter by looking at you -- you look great! I love the print on the skirt, and that color sweater is really nice on you too. Always great to see you post!

Great outfit Laurie, that shade of pink is really lovely on you! (Bonus that it matches the wine ^^ I've always liked WA wines, our grapes suit my tastes nicely.) Hope you're able to keep up your biking when possible, that sounds like a tough situation. And even though it's early I still hope your surgery is smooth and the recovery quick!

I wore a very similar sweater today! I love a really brilliant pink --- too bold to be juvenile, but still feminine. You look terrific in the sophisticated floral too.

Good luck on your surgery!

You certainly can't tell by looking at you that things are going south. You look amazing!! You have my sympathy on the hip replacement--I can relate somewhat with my Achilles rupture last year. Not being able to do what you want really bites! I've heard the hip replacement recovery is pretty aggressive so hopefully you will be back to doing what you want very soon! (Fwiw, my recovery has taken a year but all is good now! Fingers crossed that your recovery is quicker than mine!) hugs!!!!!

A colleague had it done and the difference was amazing --- I don't think she realised how much pain she was in day-to-day. Her recovery was quick and uneventful too, I hope yours is also!

You look lovely in that shade of pink.

I'm sorry to hear about your upcoming hip replacement. You're in excellent physical shape which is a plus in terms of recovery time. I hope you can find the time for bicycling.
Your outfit looks fabulous and you look content. Best of luck with your upcoming surgery. November is a ways off so you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the summer (and autumn) weather.

2 things you rarely see me wear? Prints that are not geometric, and the color pink. 1 thing you often see in my hand? A glass of wine!

I liked this outfit yesterday which I wore to a meeting at a big bank in NJ. Drove 175 miles each way, and in retrospect, it was probably not the most comfortable thing for driving. However, the sweater was perfect for office AC on a 95 degree day.

Print pencil skirt - Talbots, bought with Mom and sister on recent Amelia Island trip. I love the gray, cream, black, deep pink color combo, and it puts me in mind of cherry blossoms. Reads floral to me. I like that I bought it shopping with Lisa and Mom.

V Neck - Banana Republic - excellent light weight silk blend, very soft. Washes nicely. Bought in cream and pink.

Suede wedges - Via Spiga

Wine (matching, natch) - nice rose' from Washington State. Thank you, Washington, for great wine!

On a different but related subject, I am going to have a hip replacement in November. I have not been able to run for 12 weeks due to pain. My entire body shape is already changing due to this extreme change in my exercise pattern, and the inevitable shift is south....my pencil skirts feel bad. My weight is stable, but the love handles are growing! I can cycle without pain, and have been out for numerous 20-30 mile rides on the weekends, but cycling is not convenient like running. Here I am, 8 pm., at my desk. Normally I would head up and take a 40 minute run....but now it is too late to hop on the bike safely as it gets dark, and the gym closes soon.

Sigh...just wanted to share to a sympathetic/empathetic crew. I know that the runners and ex-runners in the crowd are nodding their heads.
Thanks for listening :)
