After ankle surgery some years ago, I sported a walking boot for 8 weeks. It took a while for me to find shoes that were the same height as the boot. Being off-balance did a number on my hips and back until I finally landed on one pair of dansko clogs that were slightly higher than all my other pairs. Hope your foot issues resolve. I am probably heading that direction with a bunion issue but I pretty determined to be essentially bedfast before submitting to the knife again. This is not fun, and not something to wish upon anyone. I certainly hope you are better now.&nbsp;<br />You are right about the attitude though. I, on the opposite, have been wanting this surgery for 5 years. It was constant pain - whether in heels or flats, no difference. Of course high heels were out of the question, but some mid-heels, especially in booties, were actually more comfortable than flats (because they diffuse pressure all around, and use the ankle too). Now, this cast ensures I will have a stronger foot in shorter time, and minimal scarring. I can only cherrish it. It's not the funnest to drag it along everywhere but it's a phase to go through, and for me it's all constructive. Literally. This creative part of the journey is like icing on the cake for me. (to note: did not use hairspray! But I managed something vaguely reminescent of the film's aesthetics.&nbsp;</p> <p>This dress is from Marciano.</p> <p>This afternoon I'm off to teach a French literature class on Postmodernism, coincidentally. ;)</p> <p>Thanks for watching! </p>
