I have the same problem. Even "mile high' jeans were low rise on me. Now, for medical reasons I can still wear the low rise and pull-on bottoms. What once was a problem has turned into a blessing. I can't give much advice but NYMJ's or an elastic waist on jeans helps. My best jeans are EF elastic waists. One is a medium to light rise jogger that is lined for winter. The other is an elastic waist wide leg light weight dark cropped denim. Both are very old. The hunt for other brands is hard. An inexpensive elastic belt from Amazon is a huge help. Avoid bottoms with a front or back zipper. Do not order this style on line. One that zips on the side is better, and may or may not work. You have to try it on. I have also had good luck with Chico or Soft Surroundings carrying a variety of pull on jeans and pants.

Kinnick, that all sounds familiar from when I was younger and had a slimmer waist/smaller belly. Low and mid rises that sat on my hips were actually better for me because it avoided some of the issues of fitting both waist and hip measurements. I still prefer a drop crotch by default and don’t love how high rises tend to fit around the crotch point. Anyway, I mention all this in case the OP wants to try medium rises that sit a bit lower on the hips. I know it’s not the most in style rise/proportions but it is coming back a bit.

You may have “high hips”. Generally, high rise pants are recommended for high hips but that hasn’t worked for me bc the rise isn’t long enough to reach my actual waist and fits tightly. If I pull the pants up to my actual waist the waist fits but my hips are in wedgie territory. Probably the best solution is a slight drop crotch but that is hard to find.

If you are tall, you may find that tall sizes will give you extra inches in the rise. A ‘test’ for a well made tall (with a higher rise) is that the zipper is made longer as well.

Good luck!

Banana Republic has some pretty long rises this year.
Look at their Barrel pant.

I sympathize. Even nylon stockings are too low in the rise in my best size. I try sizing up for more length, but them they fall down. Separate stockings with a garter belt are ok, but garter belts are outrageously expensive and almost impossible to find these days. I miss all those that my mother threw out because she thought they were too risqué. They were better than the awful panty girdles she made me wear. They never stayed up on my skinny bod. This season I need something on my feet to stay warm enough. Today I am wearing Smart Wool footies that do not show with loafers.

Cassie, which pants brands are you purchasing where the rises are too short. Links will help! I can probably help you find what you need, but need a little more info when you have a moment.

Measure the pants you have that are good in the rise- or measure the too short ones and add the amount you need. Then when you search, you'll know exactly, cause what brands call "high rise" varies a lot between styles and brands.

Thanks Barbara!
I do find that high rise is great in jeans however trousers seem too short even with high rise. Going up a size fixes the problem but then the entire rest of the pant is too big.

I think i'll need to try a department store with more selection and brands.

Thx,
Cassie

Im not sure of the vocabulary to search the forum. here goes...

I seem to be too long in the rise zipper area to fit into clothes in stores.
the size that fits is too short in the rise

Any suggestions?
Thanks so much
Cassie
