EK, please report back on your finds!

Two more I thought of that are not low rise per se but comfy enough - ON denim in petite sizes and Uniqlo leggings/pants that are letter sized.

Emily, these brands worked for me at sizes 8 and 10. Currently I am a small 8 or a 6 but pants have gone high-rise. It's a pity.

elpgal--I've been having a yo-yo dieting problem since my son was born. I'm currently a small 10 and on my way down again. Target weight/size is a 2/4 and I'm 5'4". I expect you're right about the pant size being an issue. Sizes don't always increase/decrease in the ratio most useful to us, do they? This gives me hope that I will have more selection once I get into my target sizes.

Emily, what size are you? I find once you go above a 6, the rise increases above 9. That said, I have struggled with this issue for quite a long time. My best options have been Limited Drew, American Eagle (lately I haven't found anything there that works), jcrew toothpick denim, suiting from Loft, lucky brand sweet and low and Charlie cuts, Levi's Demi curve and an older style called so low superlow. Outlet stores have lower rises sometimes as do stores that cater to juniors.

texstyle--I'm with you, 8-7.5 is good for me. 8.5 is probably max. I don't often look to the shops you mention, so I'll check there. Thanks!

I think jcrew, american eagle (jeans mostly) and madewell might have some lower rise options. Other members might have more suggestions. I usually wear about an 8 or even 7.5 sometimes. The last twill pants I got at AE were way too high though and now they feel awkward.

Higher rise of course is on trend so it is more difficult right now.

Hi All! I'm having rise-shopping issues and I need some feedback. I think I must have a short rise. I've measured numerous pairs of pants and I think my ideal rise is a smidge less than 9"--81/2" to 8 3/4", about. I'm measuring from the inseam stitching to the top edge of the waistband--is that the most accurate way to measure? On pants with a rise longer than this, the waistband rolls down or the pants make a fold of surplus material at the crotch--are these, in fact, signs of a rise that is too long? Some other fit issue? In addition, I try to err on the side of low rise as I am big-busted and a higher waistband starts to feel like it is crowding my bust. At the same time, the ultra-low rises of previous seasons we're not flattering to my curves, or comfortable.

The prevalence of higher-rise pants makes rise-shopping difficult. I find some success in petites, but only with cropped styles as the long pants will be too short in the leg. Also, for some reason, it seems hard to find low rise in petites sizes and medium rise is often still to long. Anyone familiar with a brand that might work for me or a brand, or tool, or app, that makes it quick and easy to sort pants by rise in inches?

ETA--the part about shopping where I go to lots of shops and try on lots of pants is super-stressful for me so I try to thin the herd with aggressive on-line shopping before hitting the stores.
