My husband and I often bookend an active trip (hiking etc) with a few days in a city to enjoy some sight-seeing and great meals (insert wishful thinking), and I think this skirt will be fine for that with nice tops, dark leg wear, and heels. We do carry-on only so this will work out great. I am 5'1" and like you I found the old 3 length way too long. This looks great on you and the solid black will indeed be versatile. I had bought the old length 3 but it was both too wide and too long. I just got the new length today and really like it. It still needs to come in a little bit at the waist but the length is now just fine I believe. I would plan on taking the skirt with me on trips to pair with blouses that would go with jeans, black pants, or the skirt. That way we can go to nice restaurants without me having to bring several dresses along. (Excuse the wrinkles but it just came out of the package.) Thoughts? </p>
