Hehe, thank you Claire. My sandals appreciate your thoughtful sendoff.

You got a steal on those sandals! Sandals never last me more than a year or two and you're absolutely right that they have to be worn around for a bit before you can be sure they'll work out.

*playing taps on bugle* I'm sorry for your loss, but it's sounds like you got some very decent wear out of them.

I'm retiring two pairs of Dana Buchman sandals that I bought in silver/gold and turquoise last year. I wore them to death, they went on all my trips with me and were my go-to shoes all summer (and last fall too). I bought them on clearance for like $8.40 per pair but so far I haven't been so lucky with their replacements. I have to really wear a pair of shoes out and about to be able to tell how comfortable they are, unfortunately.

Your new contenders look great. I think you should definitely duplicate if you can tell they're going to be winners.

JR, I haven't tried Aldo shoes but, I will check them out. I had lumped them in with Nine West, which are decidedly not comfortable for 5+ hours of walking.

My sandals are Sofft and I have found them extremely comfortable. I have several other pairs by them and have been able to dance for 3+ hours in 3 inch heels.

Have you tried Aldo's? (You do have Aldo's in the States, right?) I have gotten some fantastic wear out of their shoes and sandals. I really, really wish they made more wide shoes so I could shop there more often. I find the occasional ballet flat or sandal there that will work with my feet even if it is B width.

I personally love sandals with a strap between the toes, but I have to get used to them again every year. I just wear them around the house for a few days before taking them into the wild and everything goes well.

My gunmetal gladiator sandals (#1) have finally given up the ghost as I discovered a big chunk torn out of one of the heels (not really fixable).

I wore them 57 times and I made it under $1 CPW but not to my 50 cents CPW goal. In fairness, I've beaten this pair up taking them on multiple all day walks (today they did about 2-3 hours of walking). I bought them just about a year ago in September 2011.

I'm thinking of replacing them with this almost identical pair (#2) so I have a backup. It also comes in bronze, gold, black and white and I am considering duplicating in a second color if they work out. My only concern is the protrusion in between the toes may not be comfortable.

As a CPW tracker, I'm always very interested in seeing how long other people's purchases last, so I want to be sure I'm sharing my data as well.
