It’s become a comfy go-to for me when it’s cooler, usually layered under a roomy black sweater and leggings with boots. The styling suggestions to pair it with a skirt and sneakers really appealed to me, so I played around in my closet before heading out to an early birthday dinner and movie with my guys. (I dragged them to the new live action Lion King. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for the Lion King. My 13-year-old was tolerant, but not thrilled! )</p> <p>Chambray shirt details: Rails, purchased 2-3 years ago, deliberately oversized, tied at the waist, sleeves rolled a la J. Crew. I tried a partial tuck, but preferred the tied waist because it’s pretty long in the back. </p> <p>#1: Grey skirt (several years old), Cole Haan camo sneakers (NAS last year)<br /> #2: Swapped out the Cole Haan sneakers for my Adidas Superstars<br /> #3: What I ultimately decided on: black VC tube skirt with Cole Haan sneakers<br /> #4: Brought along my white denim jacket because Seattle, what is your DEAL with this summer weather???? </p> <p>I ended up not needing the jacket but I like the look for when it starts to get cooler. I think I’ll wear my white adidas in that case. </p> <p>Thoughts? Preferences? Other ideas? I started with a white crew neck tee layered underneath, but felt like it was too busy. </p>
