Aha! That makes sense :). So true, boot fitting is much easier in stores - especially when you are wearing the right outfit!

Oh ha, good point! 14" - 15" is the shaft proper, 17" - 18" is from sole up. I didn't have enough green tea this morning. Calf fit is always the hardest part for me. I'm crossing my fingers that that works because I truly can never tell until I try them on, even if measurements are provided. Boots are a million times easier in the store!

Great strategy! Your tall boots might be high, but do they fit? 17 and 18 inch shafts are for VERY tall gals - unless they are OTK. Or you are measuring the shaft from the heel and not the ankle. I hope that your new boots fit!

Angie, just measured my tall boots and most are between 17" and 18" in height. I don't see the measurement for boot #3. Do you think those boots will have a standard height for tall boots?

I think my issue with boot #2 is the gold more than anything. I've been a silver metal girl for years and I'm trying to be more receptive to gold. Baby steps for me. *laughs* Even boot #1 would have sent me running a couple years ago. Gold hardware and no heel... why that was blasphemy!

I ended up pre-ordering boot #3. Just a wee bit of gold.

High five, Kate. I actually prefer #2 because it looks LESS like a logo. To my eye, it looks edgier than #1. FWIW!

I like #3 a lot too and if you can do the heel, go for it. Are you tall, dresslover? Those boots have high shafts.

They all look fab! I'm not too concerned about the logo because it's a good looking logo. Not like having a name in giant letters across the boot.

I would try them on and see which is more comfortable. I like the cut of 3 a little better than #2 (and even #1)!

I would order both and keep looking in the meantime. It's easier to cancel your order than to have #2 and #3 sell out too, and Nordstrom is great about returns.

I like boot #3 allot. Great texture without shouting Tori, and a nice and unusual color. I love the heel too. I love a cognac boot but #3 is really a great style and looks quite timeless.

Completely agree with you about the logos. 1 and 3 are both gorgeous boots, but with different sensibilities. I tend to favor 3 because I think they would be more fab with skirts and dresses, and I like to wear boots that way. I know you can wear a riding boot with dresses or skirts, but it is not my personal preference. The color of 1 is rich and gorgeous, but I am drawn to the neutral also. What is your coloring? Which color would work best with your wardrobe? Are you OK with the heel in 3? These would be key considerations if I was choosing.

So just chatted with a Nordstrom SA about the elusive Tory Burch riding boots. Definitely sold out. They are however offering the boot in picture 2 at the NAS price if anyone is interested. I declined because I felt the logo was too noticeable. What do you think?

Then I asked her if she'd honor the sale price on the boot in picture 3 because the logo seems less noticeable. They are also a color I don't have and they have a heel which I prefer. I fully expected her to say no because this boot is more expensive, but she said yes!

I've been wanting to try a riding boot and I will keep looking for the original since these won't ship until late August anyway, but I wanted to know what you all think.
