Thistle--so right! They don't sugar coat the colors, do they? I really like the wet cement shade--it's right up my alley! I think the muted palette is one of the things that draws me to these designs.

I had one of their hoodies that I liked, but ultimately decided the color (mustard/ochre) didn't suit me so I consigned it. I purchased it from Melange, an online boutique with great service. They still carry the line. Here's a nice blue tunic that's on sale today http://www.melange4women.com/prunlopatopp.html

Ah! I'm so flattered you thought of me! I love the clothing line, but I've never bought anything by them. They are a bit expensive for me, and I end up looking the designs and thinking, "ohhh, that would be cool to make." You remind me that I should revisit the styles more often.

Una - I did have buy the cloak hoodie but honestly I never wore it. I have a high tolerance for costume and drama but it worked better in my head than irl. It's since been donated and I'm hoping someone else gives it the love it deserves. That being said - this piece has more of a HL feel than boho. The quality and workmanship of the piece I had was very good. If the style works for you I thought it was good quality, nice detailing and very comfortable.

I've always liked them but I agree they are a little overpriced and the colors are a bit on the dull side - too earthy in general for me (although I do like the greys and blues of the current collection) There was a boutique near my old apartment that used to carry them so I used to look at the pieces a lot, but i haven't seen the last few seasons.

I never did love that long cloak hoodie that was all over the blogosphere a few years back though. It was cool in principle but was a bit schlumpy IRL in my opinion. I think it would have been better in a more structured fabric.

Also, they used to be a little too heavy handed on the ruching, IMO, but it looks like there's less of it now. I am super particular about ruching, and have poison eye for ruching in certain areas (midline front in particular).

I've never seen Prairie Underground in person, but I'm a huge fan based on what I've seen online. Medieval-utilitarian is a good description. Sadly, they are way out of my price range, but I can admire from afar.

I've always liked their artsy, organic, medieval-utilitarian style - just wish their pieces were not so hard to find and a little less pricey. I feel like they are the Fluevog of clothes. They've come out with some new hoodie styles. The other day I found a cool swingy moto jacket at the consignment store, but it was a dull shade of orange that doesn't work for me. :(

I know they are from Seattle. Any fans? For some reason, I think of both Deborah and Firecracker when I browse the collections.
