For those of you who talked about buying makeup from Sephora...thought I'd pass this along.

JCPenney is running a Sephora "sale" (for lack of a better term). I think you get free shipping if you spend $75 or more, and it looked like they had some free samples and discount prices on some products. I got an email in my inbox this morning from them. I'm not sure if you'd have to register at JCPenney to get these offers, but if you're contemplating the purchase anyway, it might be worth looking into.

Excellent Christie! Thanks for the info and I hope that Prescriptives continues to treat you well. I’ve been using their “Traceless” for years and I am still sold.

Yesterday, I found myself in Nordstrom's, so I made a visit to the cosmetic section to find a new foundation. As I mentioned in the last Foundation post, I have been using Laura mercier's oil-free foundation, and I have been less than impressed. Actually, I hate it.

So I went to the Prescriptives counter, and I was impressed with several things:

1). The range of "types" of foundations. They had any coverage from sheer to heavy, oil-free, tinted moisturizers, etc...

2). The colors of the range. Prescriptives has a method of determining the appropriate color for foundation that goes beyond the person working at the counter eyeing your skin and testing several shades. It is called "Color Print."

I originally went for their sheer "traceless" skin tint. I dislike the feel of foundation on my face, and I usually only use it to cover blemishes and redness. Plus, my skin has been so dry this winter that I thought a tinted moisturizer would be good. It was too sheer, unfortunately. I imagine my skin to look like it did when I was 18--clear, translucent, creamy. But at 28, it's more spotty, big pores, yucky. Sheer just didn't work. We went to the next level of coverage, found a perfect color, and I loved it.

The product is called "Virtually Fresh", it says it is skin refining make-up, lightweight, clean finish, with SPF protection and it is oil free. The sheer to medium coverage was perfect to cover my blemishes, but didn't look like I was wearing make-up. The woman at the counter put it all over my face, which is more than I would usually wear (and I could feel it, which I didn't like), but the coverage was flawless. So far, I'm sold.

Here is the link: http://www.prescriptives.com/t.....6#Blue/Red
