Suz, you're right, the BLANKNYC jacket is the second one that I tried on and I immediately sighed and relaxed into it. Super comfy, tailored fit, great color. It is definitely my personal top pick of NAS this year.

smittie, I am hoping that other more affordable brands (e.g. Halogen?) will pick up on the styling cues here. I feel like the cut is often what makes high-end sweaters great, moreso than the material (all cashmere pills, as I've learned from the knitting world, and I live in a mild climate anyway). You're right too that the NAS is just our first peek at pre-fall, with lots more product assortment to come!

I think the jacket is such a perfect fit! I can't see the colour very well in your personal pics, but the product shot is wonderful!
Yes, I looked at the cashmere sweater and sighed. I just can't afford it :-(
I'm sure there will be other knitwear options in the fall.

You all will keep me accountable for actually finishing this planned sweater by the time it gets cold enough to wear (in December)! For anyone curious, here's the specific pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/curveline I plan to knit it in a semi-solid red-orange color. I've made several crochet and knitted sweaters in the past -- for garments it's mostly about having enough patience to finish! -- but I'm not experienced enough yet to adjust fit, so I hope the style works on my body. I'm optimistic since the Nordies sweater did turn out to be a good shape for me.

Cathy, keep at it! I only re-learned how to knit about a year ago, and for a long time it was still so hard (much harder than crochet which clicked immediately for me). Once you can confidently knit and purl, increase and decrease... try a simple sweater. Really! I wasn't motivated to improve my knitting skills until I realized how it could integrate with my fashion hobby ;)

Angie, I tried the Zella Live In leggings a few years ago, but returned them because the waist wasn't high enough to hit my natural waist and thus tended to roll down on my belly. I think those were the regular rise version. I hadn't realized they now have a high rise version, so maybe I will try them again!

My current fave yoga legging, at a slightly better price point than Beyond Yoga, is Athleta's PowerVita fabric. It's supersoft too, and many styles have deep side pockets that can hold my phone.

ETA: I'm reminded of how great a price the Zella's are, and I saw a picture of them in green(!) although it appears sold out for the moment. Angie, do you recommend sizing all the way down to XXS? I'm usually between XS and S in leggings.

YAY. Thanks, Keix

The BLANKNYC moto is the winner. Agreed - it runs TTS for those who need a narrow fit - (like you and me) - and a size small on those who need a regular fit. Cute over the dress too.

Glad the leggings work. After trying millions of yoga leggings - the Zella high waist is by far my personal fave. Have you tried it? Size down.

The second jacket looks wonderful on you! I am just learning how to knit so I would love to see your finished sweater too. I'm having trouble knitting a straight three inch piece so I can't imagine making a whole sweater.

Thanks for the reviews!! Especially for the Flora bra and the NS sweater, because I was curious about both. The Blank NY moto is great on you. So glad you’re keeping that one.

This was the very first order I placed, around 30 minutes after the sale opened. Still, from Wednesday night to Monday night isn't bad for standard free shipping!

Apologies for the terrible photo quality. I tried to lighten them on my phone, but I'm not sure if it actually passed through to Dropbox because they still seem dark :(

1) Bernado Clean Leather Jacket, XSP, deep green. It feels a bit big overall on me; I would have liked to try it in XXSP if that size existed. It would fit better on someone who's usually a size 2-4P, rather than a size 0-2P. But never mind, because--

2-4) BLANKNYC Meant to Be Moto Jacket, XS, evergreen. Just as great as I had hoped after trying on the black colorway. Color reads a bit more green than teal, but I like green so that's fine. The drawstring on the hood has some kinks in it, which doesn't matter because I don't ever intend to wear the hood buttoned in (in fact I have it in my donation bag already, just not my style). I took several pics, including w/out hood and fully zipped up. Size-wise, I would say that the XS is definitely a shrunken petite fit. The sleeve is only about 0.5" longer than my Bernardo cropped leather moto from the NAS several years ago, which is a petite size (strangely, it's a size SP and is definitely a full size smaller than the XSP Bernardo jacket above). The body length is almost a bit more cropped than my ideal, since I have a long torso.

I can see why Angie would say that this jacket runs small, but it's TTS for me as a "petite" size. I sometimes have issues with size 0/XXS jackets through the shoulders, especially in true petite sizing, but I have enough room to move around here. My bust is only 32B/30C and I think the XS would definitely accommodate someone one cup size larger, but not sure about more than that.

5) Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Directional Rib Mock Neck Sweater, XS, navy medieval tweed. I liked this sweater fine, and if it were non-cashmere at half the price I probably would keep it. But the cashmere isn't super-duper soft, the sleeves are just a tad long... and I have a similarly shaped sweater pattern, with yarn already stashed away, in my Ravelry knitting queue. So I'd rather make my own boxy mock neck pullover this winter, with sleeve length customized to my short arms. Merino wool will be hardier and less hot than cashmere for my mild climate, also.

6) Bonus from my basics replenishment: Beyond Yoga Midi High Waist Leggings, XS, woodland forest light sage. I have a pair of cropped Beyond Yoga leggings from a similar heathered fabric that I LOVE, and these are indeed their signature supersoft material. This fabric is magic: amazingly soft and stretchy, yet somehow doesn't pill with repeated wears and wash/dry cycles. The size XS looked tiny when I pulled it out of the box, but it stretches a lot and fits fine on my post-dinner tummy.

Not shown) Natori Flora Underwire Bra, 30B, cosmetic. IMO the cup on this bra fits like the Natori Feathers, which is to say, small/shallow. Good for me! I could exchange for either the 30C or 32B, but I'll probably go for the 32B because I like a looser bra band (don't need the support or the back fat indentations). The band material is really nice and soft though -- normally I can't wear 30 bands for long because they dig into my rib cage, but this bra felt fine. I think the lace overlay on the cups will lay a bit flatter under white tees than my nude Feathers bra.

Great start to NAS this year for me! And having rejected two splurge items, so far I still have budget room for the Aquatalia booties that are more of a "want" than a need
