As I noted earlier the sizing is inconsistent across Blondo models. I normally wear 6 1/2 or 7 in shoes, more often a 7 these days. Since I wanted to wear these boots with thick socks, I sized up and ordered them all in a size 7 1/2. For all of the lower shaft ones, 7 1/2 would have been the right size, but for the Tula, I ended up sizing DOWN and ordering a 7, which is just right with thick socks. Go figure!

I 've learned not to be annoyed by this any longer, just keep trying different sizes until the fit is right.

The Tulas are keepers! I've already worn them twice and they are just right. I wore them yesterday on slippery sidewalks and concrete steps and no slippage at all!

Now for a trip to Nordstrom with a pile 'o returns.

ok Suz. We are shoe size twins!

fashionintern yes I didn't feel like spending the amount that would be invovled in La Canadienne or Aquatilla.

Wow, perusing Blondo's website, they have a lot more options in wide sizes than I thought! Will definitely be placing an order in the future.

This is very helpful for those of us who may be in boot-buying/ -wearing country in the not-too-distant future! I’m surprised at the two brands you’ve eliminated; was that decision driven by price?

Oh, thank you, Chris! Alas, 6.5 and 7 are my sizes -- 7.5 will be too big for sure. So sweet of you, though, and glad you are liking them!

Good to know Sveta.

Wow Suz that seems odd....except for the fact that the US has a much bigger population than Canada so more revenue to be gained I guess.

I currently have a pair of 7s and a pair of 7.5s in my possession from Nordstrom........turns out the 7 fits better. Would 7.5 be your size and do you love them enough for me to consider shipping them to you? I'm going to be returning them next week....

Re the Tulas-- I was holding out for trying them in person. But, it turns out, they are not available in Canada! If you compare the websites, Blondo has many more styles for Americans than for Canadians, despite being a Canadian company. :( I might give them a call and have a little chat about that...

DonnaF yeah it seems odd for a brand to have such a variety in sizing for somewhat similar items.

Good to know Delurked! Not a surprise that a Canadian brand would be great with cold weather footwear!

Joy, yes that seems right

Style Fan, I wasn't sure I would like the moto style because I remember the Frye moto boots guys wore in the 70's with bell bottomed jeans...they were sometimes called "engineers' boots" back then...way too masculine for me....but these are not that vibe at all.

njw, good to know about that additional model.

La P thanks!

Thanks Angie. I'm liking the decision making strategy I use for footwear, it almost always works well. I need to apply it to other areas

Suz they are on sale now but for 20% off, not the 40% off that is typical for NAS, so definitely would have been a better deal at NAS.

Another VERY happy Tula wearer here...if the insoles came out they would be 100% perfect but I can put my orthotics over the insole and it works. One other vote for the Blondo Vali...not a walk for 8 hour boot (for me) but could be for others with less fussy feet. I wear them to work and they are great for that purpose. https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/b.....en/4026896

As the snow just stopped falling here in New England this
Christmas day, (so pretty!) I’m trying out boots. I first posted about this here:

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....er-booties and want to thank everyone for the great suggestions.

I want walk-all-day waterproof winter boots with a grippy sole, good support, and some warmth although I also expect to wear wool socks with them. Ankle or mid-calf height, not tall boots. Something that is NOT a sporty look because I’m already covered for those. Expected to go with flat heels but gave a few low-but-not- ones a try too.

Blondo is a new brand for me. Well made, comfortable, waterproof, and very attractive to my eye. Interestingly, the styles I tried did NOT fit the same way. The toe shapes and overall width of the boots are slightly different, even though they were all exactly the same size. These differences are really hard to spot in the online photos, an are NOT represented in the descriptions.

Ida - I could tell right away that the 1-1/2" heel was a bit too high for all day walking for me, so I eliminated them right away. I don’t have fussy feet per se, but more and more heels of any height seem to throw my hip and lower back joints out of alignment just a tiny bit, which I do NOT like, it feels like a mistake. I also think flat heels are much better for
snow/slush.

Liam – 1- 1/4 ” heel. these are almost perfect, and in addition to meeting my goal listed above, they would fit my wish list goal of replacing the one pair of old winter ankle boots I have that work with dresses. The flat heel is perfect, the shape is nice. However, I can
feel my big toes crowding up against the front of the boot ever so slightly. This is a deal breaker, I’ve made that mistake before. The overall fit is so good that sizing up would make for a very loose heel which is another fit issues I know I cannot fix with inserts on my feet.

Villa – 1 ¾ heel is also too high. But they do not crowd my toes. They are a tiny bit wider than the Liam overall, so the fit is better. If the heel were lower I’d keep these and do an insert to tighten them up.

Tula – so far these are the winners. Love the style, it’s definitely a step up for me in terms of winter outdoor boots. The toe box is roomy, good for warm socks although not super thick ones, and my toes can wiggle around a bit. The boot shaft is not as roomy as I'd like for tucking in pants but I think it will work. The straps/buckles look great uncovered, and I also think I could wear longer straight leg pants down over the straps/buckles. I’m wearing them around the house now and experimenting with different widths of pant legs.

I’ve also decided not to keep the Kodiak Acadia, although If you like this style I’d highly recommend you try them. Really comfy, warm, nicely made etc. The upper area is nubuck which makes them a little more interesting than plain leather overall…

I've decided that IF I go for a second pair after the Blondo Tulas it will
be a style like the Blondo Liam, that can be worn with dresses or pants.

I’ve also decided to pass on La Canadians and Aquatila for now, although I have looked at them and the quality sure is terrific.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year to all!
