Ket - I wish you luck that your Old Navy items have less shrinkage issues than my Gap Outlet and Gap items did. My fingers are crossed for you!

Cookie - I adore matching sets, and the Gap fleece sweats come in really fun colors. Hopefully next season things will be better, but this season's collection was a bust for me as far as shrinkage goes. And like yourself I only wash in cold water and I also line dry most items. But it always feels like a gamble to wash clothes. You just never know what's going to happen!

Well, they are very cute and LOOK as though they fit. I am like you about hating to wash new clothes! I wash everything in cold water but it still feels like a gamble sometimes.

You look really darling!

Ooooh!!! Your shrinkage experience makes me nervous... I just purchased new sweats from Old Navy, Gap's "little sister". I purchased two jackets and two pairs joggers. All items are cotton blends. If they shrink I may return them. I am very tall and curvy. Shrinkage can affect fit on me tremendously.

Dee - I sort of hate washing new clothes because so often the fit is drastically different after washing. It's very frustrating.

kkards - I'll have to check out Target sometime for loungewear. They aren't local for me, so I always forget about them. And I'm eagerly awaiting warmer weather and longer daylight hours, so I can start taking walks after work. When you're stuck in front of computer all day, that evening walk is very rejuvenating.

RobinF - Shrinkage is all over, but most noticeable with the length of the joggers and the length of the arms (compared to waists and torsos). It's quite frustrating! My sister started purchasing guys sizes instead of women's for sweats because the overall shape is boxier and the length is longer than women's so when things shrink it's still longer length. I may start doing the same. I've been wearing knee high socks instead of ankle socks all winter because I do not want skin above my ankles to show when it's cold outside.

Angie - I really like the look of Gap but not the shrinkage. My sister has started purchasing from the men's section and has noticed that even with shrinkage there's more length left, I may try the same next season.

Nostalgic Vintage Gap! Love the look for loungewear post the work day!

Sodding rotten luck about the shrinkage. URHH! :(

You look adorable nonetheless :)

Did they only shrink in the length? I have found that to happen sometimes, which works well for me since I am short, but I have often thought if I were taller it would be quite annoying. Not just from Gap.

Oh bummer on the shrinking. So annoying.
I also like target for lounge wear. I’ve gotten a couple of great sweatshirts from their active line

I like to transition for “work” to home with a walk.

Oh, that's a shame, but in some ways not surprising, as the quality of items from outlet stores and even regular retailers has been diminishing over the years. I purposely bought a pair of grey sweatpants in a larger size, fully expecting them to shrink in the wash and they did just that, but its sort of frustrating having to do this.

Hello.

Since I WFH I've learned that changing into athleisure at the end of the workday helps my mind shift from "workmode" to "at home" mode.

I'm really fond of Zella athleisure items and also Under Armour but wanted to try something new this season.

I purchased 4 items from Gap (3 from the Gap Outlet, burgundy fleece logo hoodie and joggers, and navy fleece joggers and 1 from Gap retail store, baby blue full zip fleece hoodie) at the start of fall.

Unfortunately Gap Outlet gets a big thumbs down from me because everything shrunk, a lot. I'm normally a size Small in most brands. I purchased a size Medium in both Gap Outlet and Gap items because I like an oversized fit for my athleisure wear.

The Gap Outlet items shrunk the most. I wore white socks so you can see that the joggers are well above my ankles. When I purchased them they fell past my ankles! The hoodie is already quite short for both the torso and the sleeves.

The Gap full zip hoodie hasn't shrunk as bad as the Outlet line, but my Zella and Under Armour items have not shrunk at all!

I really like the fun colors and simple logo Gap does on their sweats but shrinkage means they get a thumbs down from me.

Thanks for looking!
