*APPLAUSE*

Taking small steps to reach a goal is a fabulous idea. Clever. You stuck with it - did not give up - and that’s the most impressive and important part. Now you can reap the rewards. Well done.

What a great exercise to perform, you had so many winners and the ones that were not were in the main due to poor fabrication rather than an issue with your purchasing.

Like you I have special occasion heels that were purchased and don't get worn regularly. It is handy to have some heels for that purpose even if the number of wears is low.

Congratulations on making 2018 so successful in areas other than your wardrobe - looking after health, friendships and the budget are wonderful and it looks like you are on track for a very successful 2019.

A little distraction for a difficult holiday season ...

For the first time since my daughter was born I kept to a budget for her December birthday and Christmas buying. Yay!

I also kept a running list of clothing I purchased over the course of the year. I added 64 items over most categories. Some were big winners, some total flops and some I’m not sure about yet. In times of uncertainty and emotional upheaval, I tend to hibernate and look for the ultra cosy therefore some things go unworn for a while.

I realized while doing this summary that it takes me several smaller steps to reach a goal. My goal is to buy less and be more accountable and mindful in my buying. Some of my baby steps have been ...
participating on YLF
considering # of wears
tracking wears (short-lived but helpful)
tracking buying
blocking off # of weeks for each season
identifying sub-seasons
considering a holiday capsule
returning more
browsing online less
editing
paying attention to what didn’t work when editing

As I reflect I notice that I’m making parallel baby steps in other areas of my life - seeing a physiotherapist, getting a new family doctor and having blood work done, moving to a job closer to home, taking vitamins, trying to eat better, connecting with friends and family more.

Basics (17)
5 PJ pants
1 Summer robe
1 Glerups
4 Bras
6 tanks

Lounge (5)
Joggers
Pink plaid flannel
3 tees

Tops (19)
8 tees
2 blouses
2 silky tees
4 sweatshirts
2 sweaters
1 flannel shirt

Toppers (5)
3 cardigans
2 lightweight shirts

Bottoms (13)
2 denim shorts
7 pairs of jeans
Liberty print skirt
2 Gap chinos
1 linen pants

Footwear 4
suede heels
TNF gear sandals
Keen sandals
Uggs

Outerwear
Winter parka

This year I bought mostly from BR, Gap, ON and Boden with one or two purchases each from Lands End, Abercrombie, Simons, Nordstrom, JCrew, Sportchek, The Bay, Softmoc and Winners.

https://youlookfab.com/finds/c.....ction=6890

Here’s to a mindful 2019!
