I think dresses can be hard to get just right. I also don't want to have to wear a cami with a summer dress. I also look at pics for lighter colors when I have a chance. For me, most of the problems come with whatever band or cinching happens at the waistline. They are usually several inches too high for where I would need it. Exactly, it's so often hard to see styling details when shopping online, especially when the item is a dark color. Most of the Nic &amp; Zoe colors and patterns are not my thing,<br /> but I do like their quality and overall vibe, so I chose a couple of black/white&nbsp;print ones. I&nbsp;ordered them directly&nbsp;from N&amp;Z and they arrived the day after I ordered them! Their corporate headquarters are in my state so I guess there is a warehouse really close by&nbsp;plus they obviously have their shipping act together.&nbsp;</p> <p>The first one is a shirtdress. Loved the print but something&nbsp;about the neckline didn’t thrill me. It is a shirtdress style with a&nbsp;neckline/collar similar to a camp shirt. Too sporty, masculine, or something. The low point of the vneck was also a bit lower than I&nbsp;prefer because it was a regular size (did not come in petite). I could have added a cami underneath to deal with the low V but I wanted to wear it in hot weather and a cami is no good for that. Back it&nbsp;went.</p> <p>The second is a top pick.&nbsp;Everything Angie said about it is true - versatile, easy to dress&nbsp;up/down, nice fabric. It is a bolder pattern than I usually choose but I really liked it.&nbsp;&nbsp;Unfortunately&nbsp;it did not fit right.&nbsp;The PM hem was a tad too short for my preferences and the armholes were too big, although a small alteration could fix that easily. The PL was a good hem length but armholes were way too big and the shoulder<br /> seam too long.&nbsp;I could have added a cami to deal with the armhole issues but don't&nbsp;like to rely on that for a dress I want to wear in high summer plus the shoulder seam was too long.&nbsp; Also, this dress would require frequent ironing and that’s a bit off-putting&nbsp;for me. So back that one went too. (I thought about trying regular sizes but would expect the armholes to be even bigger than the petites so didn't bother)</p> <p>Both dresses would be good for someone, but not for me.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Next. :-)&nbsp;</p> </p>
