They don't get the friction of shoe inserts. Even if it doesn't offer the best in sun protection with its narrow brim, it should do the trick to protect my hair color and make it last longer.</p> <p>I ended up with three colors to choose from (peanut and natural/black were the others) but the cream just brightened up my face. It probably helps that it's summer now. Glad you found one that works. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/review-eric-javets-squishee-straw-fedora#post-1943883 Wed, 01 Aug 2018 21:40:08 +0000 gryffin 1943883@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I was able to snag this hat in two colors - the natural/black and the black.  I was hopeful because I have a little head, 21", so when I read the reviews that this hat ran small, I was very excited.  The black arrived first and was clearly too big, despite the elasticized inner band, it was not secure.  I addition it sat very high on my crown and the crown was disproportionately high, as other reviewer mentioned, so black it went.  Although the quality and shaping was very nice.  So I was surprised when the natural/black arrived today.  Completely different fit.  First with the elastic inner band fits securely, not tight, but comfortable, although I may tuck some fabric behind the band for a snugger fit.  The crown sits lower.  The shaping is elegant and flattering.  This is not a "serious" sun hat, it is a nice "about town" sun hat.  Sun protective is relative.  The upturned brim in the back does not shade the neck, nor do the sides have much depth, front brim protection shades upper third of face.  However, for a nice, non gear, "formal" non outfit ruining hat, it's absolutely stellar.  I particularly like the natural with the black.  It makes my black pieces look deliberate while giving a nod to summer and the dark edging works well with my tortoise glasses and dark brown hair as well.  Very flattering and proportionate for small faces which is rare.  So a big thumbs up for those with small heads - try the regular squishee fedora or the black if you need a roomier size.   </p>
