I would think they would at least give you a store credit. They are pretty easy going about returns.

So, Anna, what did you end up doing with the blazer? I received my blazer after the 1/5 return deadline but after your experience with the dye transfer, decided to try to return it anyways (it was way too small for me anyhow). Initially they weren't going to let me return it, because the register wouldn't ring up the return, but I spoke to Target Guest Relations on the phone and after I explained that I hadn't received it until after 1/5, they gave the cashier an approval code to process the return. I was only able to get a gift card instead of getting the refund to my credit card, but it was better than nothing. If you decide to return, I would explain that it's defective and see if you can still get a refund/gift card.

I'm in the UK which does not have the same generous returns policies as the US but I would return the jacket to the store as faulty. Due to the item being faulty (the dye transferring during wear) you should not be held to the return date for having just changed your mind.

With regards to the BB shirt, could you take it to a cleaners to see if the stain can be removed or perhaps dye the shirt a darker shade to hide the stain.

You can try and they might give you your money back as good will, but usually wash instructions will say "wash with like colors" -- I'm assuming the BB shirt was the white one you wore with that outfit, and white very easily absorbs other colors.

I've never had any hassle returning to Target. If you know what credit card you used, they can find it and credit the card.

I don't know, but I would be willing to try - the one time I returned something to a local Target store (something I'd ordered online) - the staff at the returns/customer service counter were excellent - I had no problem returning my online ordered item, and I did *not* happen to have my receipt on hand. They were able to just scan it at a terminal and refund the $ to my credit card.

I think it's worth trying to return it. Definitely bring the tags - in my experience, the customer service person was able to scan the tag (since I didn't have my receipt either) and process the return without any problems. I was so pleased with the 'ease of return' process when I went to return something I'd ordered online, that I ended up buying a bunch more stuff since I was in the store anyway.

While I haven't returned something to Target that's already been worn, I *have* returned something I'd ordered online without a receipt - and the tags on the item were 'enough' to process the return. No hassles and no problem.

Ouch. If the won't do it at your local store, definitely try writing/chatting/calling customer service. Poor, poor, BB shirt...

Oh no! What a bummer! I would take it to Target and explain and see what they say. I know they can look up using your credit card it you don't have the receipt. The only catch is I saw that they said the last day to return the NM for Target items is 1/5. I don't know how strict they are going to be with that.I had ordered the same blazer but it hasn't even arrived yet so I don't know what I am going to do myself. Good luck!

So remember this Thom Browne blazer

http://noscrubs.lookfab.com/po.....rty-preppy

The navy color transferred to my Brooks Brothers no-iron shirt. I washed the shirt and the dye did not come out. I no longer have the receipt for the shirt, but I think I have the tags. Do you think I'll be able to return it as defective to Target?
