Maybe you could try on the size smaller of the white pants if you loved the fit to begin with. Wear them around the store for a while and see what they do. Walk around, sit down shop, and see if they relax. If your first pair did, these probably will as well.

BR wool pants usually work fine for me too. Maybe going down in size would work. I'll try it next time. Too bad, because I do really like their pant selection.

These are a cotton (98%)/spandex (2%) blend. I typically only buy the light wool dress pants, and now I know why. I am allowed to exchange these, so I hope I find some other white pant that won't stretch this much.
Every pair of jeans (only two) I've purchased from BR have stretched too much on the first wear.
I'm embaressed that I have to go the rest of the day with baggy pants on.

I had this problem with BR pants and jeans in the past. I used to buy them a lot, but now I am afraid to because of this. What type of pants were they, a cotton/nylon/lycra blend?

Thank you. You gave me the courage to call and ask, and the sales representative said that I could exhange the pants for something else. I do expect better quality from their things, and have never had this problem before.
I also have a knit top I bought a week ago there, and since I don't have the tags they said they'd send it off to the tailor and re-hem it for free.

I would consider it an inferior product and I think they would want to know about it to save their good name.
It's a plus that you still have the tags.

Hmm....I bought the palazzo jeans there and the same thing happened to me. I had thrown out the tags and stuff, though. I wanted to go with the smaller size, but I let the salesgirl talk me into the bigger size which fit just right (for about 30 minutes). I just wash them every 1 or 2 wears now, but it's kind of annoying, and I won't be wearing them past this season, for sure.

I would take them back and tell them you think it's a quality issue that they should address. It wouldn't hurt to at least ask them for your money back, or ask if you can exchange them for something else, or a smaller size of the same pants. They might be more likely to take them back if you would be willing to do an exchange. I mean, you basically have spent a lot of money on pants that you can't wear now. They should at least compensate you for it.

I recently purchased a pair of trousers at Banana Republic. I tried them on in the store and at home, and love the fit. But after only three hours of wear today, they have stretched far too much and I have extra fabric around the crotch and behind. I still have the tags, but they have already been removed.
Is anyone familiar with the process? Would a store take the pants back?
It's not like I haven't spent a lot there or won't shop there again in the future.
Thanks for your help!
