<p>As a change up from your old blush trench, I would go for the leopard print. I have a leopard corduroy trench (that is about 15 years old) and it is much more versatile that I originally thought and lots of fun. Whilst animal prints are currently trendy, they have a certain timeless quality.

<p>Ymmv with your climate, but for mine a trench without hood isn't practical-since mild weather is almost always rainy! Also, colors look different in grey weather. My raincoat looks copper in sun but pink (compared to my skin) in grey weather.<br />
For shape, I'm thinking the wider lapel ones would work well for you, since your hair has volume, though I like them all.

<p><div><b>Kathie</b> and <b>Viva</b>, I have the same thoughts and concern about the Ilse Jacobsen. I love the design, but if it's rubber-like, it's not what I want. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>cjh</b>, thanks for weighing in and for the info on the London Fog colors. I really almost ordered that Tahari. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks, <b>Carla</b>. The Uniqlo selections surprised me; I like the hooded one for its casualness and the unhooded one for its classic lines.&nbsp; <br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>JAileen</b>, thanks! I wonder if any of my finds will be helpful to you.&nbsp; ;)</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Adriana</b>, you are right, a two-way zipper is the best! And I agree on color, too. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Vix</b>, I have thought about that Cole Haan more than once. I love your photos--thanks! I have the coat in black from maybe about 7 years ago. Do I want it in pink, too?<i> </i>I sure have worn the black one a lot! And it has been a great travel companion.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Barbaraq</b>, thanks for the commiseration. I could order the Tahari and see what it looks like. It seems a less packable version of the Cole Haan, perhaps. Oh, and I've been thinking I could actually repair the tear in the fabric on my coat, but not invisibly. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! <br /></div><div>Thinking further about Sal's questions, I think I do have other coats that would suit some of the purposes of this blush one. I have basically used it in place of my older taupe trench coat, so I could go back to wearing that one. Blush was my fun new color last spring (or really starting the previous spring), so I need to think about whether I really want a blush coat that badly. I might pursue something a little different. I might even make a coat in a fun spring color! <br /></div>

<p>Bummer about your pretty trench! &nbsp; I like the Tahari jacket the best for the same reasons as cjh does. &nbsp; Roomy in the front but with a nice gathered line in the back. &nbsp; You would want to check out the color. &nbsp;Pink can be anything these days.

<p>Hi Firecracker --</p>
<p>Not much help with the picking, but wanted to offer .02 on the Cole Haan as I have it in what I'm pretty sure is the exact shade (bought last year). ETA: yes, "Canyon Rose."</p>
<p>Color is a bit changeable because of the fabric but IMO it does skew a bit mauve. I like it better when it goes a little more pink but whatchagonna do.&nbsp;</p>
<p><b>SEE PHOTO </b>Also -- and this may be a pro or con -- it's packable. As in, I bought it for warm-weather travel and to fit into this purse when unneeded. I will say the front pockets are good (secure for a phone, though if yours is large you may have to fit on the diagonal).</p>
<p>I'm not a huge fan of packable coats as I like more structure and always feel a bit like I'm wearing a garbage bag, but if you want something stowable for walking around in unpredictable weather it's a pretty good bet (though not highly breathable).</p>
<p>Good luck with all the options!

<p>My favorite is the Tahari hooded raincoat. I think the length looks good for bike riding, and I like the waist treatment in back that slims it. If that’s adjustable, even better. It looks like you to me.</p>
<p>I looked at the London Fog from Macy’s and the choices include a lilac, which looks different from the find photo. The British khaki color in this item is very appealing to me, moreso than putty beiges typical for trench coats.

<p>The Ilse jacobsen felt firecrackerish to me ... but I think Kathie has a good point about it possibly being too gearish.&nbsp; Still, the shape and drape of it remind me of you.

<p>I really like the lines of the Ilse Jacobsen one, with the longer back. But, the description makes it seem more like gear (fleece lining, bonded waterproofing), so I’m not sure that’s what you’re looking for. I like the idea of going with a similar color, but different shape.

<div><b>Shevia</b>, words of wisdom. I waver about the waist tie. I do like the trench style. Sometimes I really prefer more of a cocoon shape, though, to wear over styles with more volume.</div><div><b>unfrumped</b>, I agree, more mauvey is usually my best bet. In fact my blush coat is an odd shade that is a bit dark and more brownish than a lot of the "blush" shades out there. It does seem to flatter my skin, though at first I wasn't sure.&nbsp; <br /></div><div>Thanks, <b>Angie</b>, for the suggestion! I think I would like that color and slightly different style. It looks a bit short. <br /></div><div><b>Joy</b>, I didn't realize the London Fog coats weren't the same color. I don't recall what the color of mine was called. But now that you mention it, they do look different. No, I haven't tried on the straighter ones. I went to JCrew to see if they had the leopard coat, but no, it must be ordered. [sigh]<br /></div><div><b>Sal</b>, your thoughts are right on target--thank you! I need to think about how I want or need to wear this coat. <br /></div><div><b>JenniNZ</b>, thanks for your pick!</div><div><br /></div><div>oh, and to <b>Sal'</b>s comment: I think what I'm struggling with is that I sense I don't want a direct replacement. If the same coat were available, I'm not sure I would get the exact one again, as much as I have enjoyed it. Thanks for helping me figure that out!<br /></div></p>

<p>When it comes to Essentials replacement I try to think about:<br />- What do I use this for (eg biking to work in spring summer and autumn when the weather is cool)<br />- what does it need to to (water proof/water resistant)&nbsp;<br />- what does it need to go with (trousers, jeans etc)<br />- am I still wedded to this style</p>
<p>Sometimes a close replacement is in order for me (did this with black pants), sometimes a new direction is better (replaced peeptoe booties with chunky sandals - decided was almost over the trend).</p>
<p>A trench is a classic - a leopard raincoat is fun and I like that direction!!

<p>Wow this is harder than I thought.<br />
I kind more mauvy plum colors for you.<br />
I’ve seen the LF Rosewood, and it’s too dark and brownish for my taste.<br />
Think about your favorite length. Also I think you can take straighter styles, reefer style and not too flared.

<p>I really like the Lauren one with contrast stitching. But I may be projecting! Do you prefer waist ties? I think trenches, like jeans, need to be tried on.

<div>Jumping on the bandwagon with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/kr-pink-trench">JAileen</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/in-the-trenches-1">Viva</a>, who have posted about trench coats. <br /></div><div>I have a London Fog short trench coat in blush that I have enjoyed wearing (it is in the Finds, London Fog Heritage Trench Coat with Detachable Liner). It had a little mishap with the bicycle this week, and it is torn, irreparably. So I'm considering whether to replace it. I've collected some possibilities below. <br /></div><div>You may notice that one of these is not blush; it is leopard print. Some are not trenches. I think I like both the color and the style of my torn coat, but then again, I also feel I'm not wedded to a trench style. Or perhaps not to the color, though I do like this particular shade of blush, and I have a whole blush complement of footwear and purses to go with it. <br /></div><div>Does anything leap out at you as being very Firecracker?&nbsp; <br /></div><div></div>
