And let's not forget that amidst all the hippie vibes, there was a year when EVERYTHING was red, white and blue (the bicentennial)! I hated that perm and couldn't wait for it to grow out. Back to feathered bangs after the perm grew out, lol. Did anyone else have a sterling silver spoon ring? Yes, the colors were earth tones. Bright colors were introduced in the '80s, when color analysis came on the scene. Interesting that nobody mentioned painter pants. I had a pair of white ones. I also wore jeans that were patched denim (various colors of blue denim patched together to look like a quilt or something). Hang Ten shirts must have been national. I had them, and I lived in FL.
