But the new ones weren't as comfortable so I paid $50 to have the old ones retreaded. Yes, re-soling had cost as much as buying a new pair of CHEAP shoes but I loved them and was waiting to find the right replacement that I loved just as much. Now that I'm going in for the shoe wardrobe, it seems like the soles of "nicer shoes" are still going to wear through at about the same pace, with the only difference being that the uppers are still in good condition. It is worth it, right?</p> <p>How often do you resole your shoes? Or rather, when do you decide it's time for a pair to give up the ghost? </p>
