YG -- you might also try sizing up in the cami (if you're not wearing it for its "compressing" abilities). A snug cami will stretch straight across your chest like plastic wrap, emphasizing the effect you're describing, whereas a more generous size will allow more drape.

Another great suggestion, Di. In fact, the blouses that I need to wear this with are both silk.

Or, now that I think about it, a silk one? That would absolutely work.

Yes, Mo! Great suggestions - something like that may work. I'll have to order one to try.

Thanks for the replies - sounds like I'm not the only one who's had this issue. I have a large bust, which make the effect even more pronounced. I gave up years ago on shelf bras in camisoles.

I did a quick google search, and the only thing I found that is remotely what I'm looking for is from Spanx:
http://www.spanx.com/product/i.....age=family

But, I'm not sure this will work as it seems to be pretty low-cut still and thus not super helpful for coverage. Surely somebody somewhere has a solution to this?

In my experience, it's far worse when there's a shelf bra in the cami, so that's the first thing. Also, I've noticed that it's also worse with the very stretchy synthetic ones. Plain cotton camis (I have one from Loft) do a little better. Ribbing helps, but really only if the tank won't be seen.

I had to return a blouse recently because this kept happening whenever I tried to wear it. Too bad because I loved it

First of all - Hi, Everyone! **waving happily** It's been a few weeks since I've been on here - we've had house guests and things have been crazy. Glad to be back!

Regarding my mono-boob question. I have a few drapey blouses that I absolutely love, but they need a camisole under them (one is sheer and one is a deep V). However, when I wear a camisole, it keeps the blouse from laying flat on my chest between my boobs, creating the dreaded afore-mentioned mono-boob effect.

Is there such a thing as a camisole that has a breast shape to it? I'm not asking for a cami-bra, I'm looking for a knit camisole that I can wear over my own bra, but that still gives breast definition.

Hopefully that makes sense!
