Yeah, not worth taking a chance with your eyes. I can wear mine safely, but was just in a lot of pain-my eyes would sting and tear up at the end of the day to the point where I stopped wearing contacts to work, otherwise I may not be able to drive home. I still get stinging eyes with glasses but with the old contacts it was unbearable and unsafe for driving. </p> <p>Naphcon-A eye drops help a lot too with irritation/allergies-not to contacts, but pollen or smoke like we have now. </p> <p>Like Karie says, these lenses are wonderful! I too still wear glasses most days. They kind of become a staple to your daily style! Plus daily lens wear would get expensive since these aren't re-usable. </p> <p>Thanks Karie! I miss contact lenses every chance I get, as I developed a severe case of keratitis when wearing them. It took my eyes months to heal, and I made the decision not to wear them anymore. I saw a documentary about a guy who had keratitis but continued to wear his contacts, and ended up needing to have a corneal transplant. And quite honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear jewel tones as well as you - it's as if jewel tones were created specifically for you to wear. Gorgeous.</p> <p>I hear you on hair texture. I spent a decade or more getting perms for my stick straight hair, and now my hair's permanently curly - and I try to wear it straight! Go figure. Some days I give up, straighten my bangs, put some product in and let the rest go curly/wavy.</p> <p>When I wear contacts, I wear the same ones as you - they really do not bother my dry eyes either. They are wonderful, aren't they? I still prefer my glasses, though, because I need/don't need bifocals - when I want to read something up close with my glasses on, I just push them down a bit. Can't do that with contacts!</p> <p>I haven't been doing much shopping either - really none since last December - I've just been wearing the heck out of the clothes I already have. Yeah, it's taking practice, and (I understand this is a thing for legit curly haired folks?) I can't always predict how they will turn out. Product, humidity... for example, in dry Phoenix, my hair was FLAT; in coastal San Diego the waves came out. Anyway, it's fun. I'm getting the hang of curls with flat irons or a curling iron, too. It's a bit of a softer look. </p> <p>I would highly recommend those contacts to anyone who suffers from dry or stinging eyes. My eye dr. suggested them, and I haven't looked back since. I can't feel them when they are in unless I do something dumb like turn one inside out, and they stay moist all day. For context, I used to have trouble driving at the end of the day because my contacts would dry out, and during an allergy/cold (allergies flare up a lot) my eyes would sting and tear so badly. I agree, changing up specs (which really make a statement-and waiting for a pair that really raises the bar) and refreshed locks has made a big difference. I've also found that the ability to switch between the purple cateyes and the emerald rectangular plastic frames PLUS being able to alternate waves, curls, or straight hair makes me feel like older favorite outfits are fresh.
