CS, when I see your WIWs I always admire how you look attractive, professional and approachable. I like how you have a bit of boho in your style it is authentic to you and replacing that with more conservative pieces would take the personality out of your style. I have always liked Rachel Zoe’s comment that “style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”

Great thoughts and good analysis, Khris! You are another who effectively feels their way through their style - a more intuitive approach - and reap the reward. :)

I love the sound of signature huaraches and sandal booties, along with creative layering and more skirts and dresses! Your palettes have stayed consistent throughout the many years you've been a Fabber, which is a fun thing too.

Good job adapting to the changing nature of work and life!

Thank you Sal and Rachylou

kkards- yes, that is an unfortunate part of the process.

Irina- I need to learn to make better use of provided measurements

Shevia and runcarla- the difference between white and cream seems small, but it can make a big difference

Ms.Maven- yes, something with a little difference in the details

Suz- sometimes I need that reminder, so thank you. I keep pushing forward but it's also necessary to stop and look back at where I was just a short time ago.

suntiger- Jenn's recent post made me look at Peruvian Collection. I did see things I liked, but much is too warm for my climate. It's definitely a place I will continue looking at.

Sounds like you've done really well! Hitting on a footwear type that works well for you is foundational, because footwear influences the rest of the outfit so much.

You've gone through enormous changes in the past few years and have dealt with huge emotional shifts, losses, and happy changes. It's a roller coaster! But it sounds as if you've managed to dress for it all. Brava!

I get you with being bored with the same tops. So much has changed in the last couple of years and basic tees and sweaters no longer appeal to me.

Definitely a time for experimenting. I enjoyed your analysis.

Like shevia, I picked up on your comment about white vs cream. I wear both, but I’m wondering if cream might be just a little bit more flattering?

You have been through so much it the past 24-18 months. Most of it good, but still a lot of change. Must feel like a roller coaster! However, it seems your collection of clothes have been reasonably flexible to support the different work scenarios you’ve been involved in.

I have to say that I just adore your trendy shag haircut.

Nicely done! It seems you are on your way to the versatile and enjoyable wardrobe. The returns are an unfortunate part of the process even with the brands I know and wear, especially now, when I do more online shopping. I really appreciate brands that provide measurements and reviews.

Well thought out and comprehensive. Love the goal of adding more funky and layering pieces seems like a great way to do it. Trying new brands, especially sustainable brands which tend to be smaller and harder to find in stores, unfortunately does lead to a try, buy, return cycle.

I'm not as organized or specific as some of you here- I've always managed my wardrobe intuitively. I'm trying to be a little more intentional going forward.
This year held big changes for my wardrobe. I focused on workwear since I went from wearing a uniform every day to a job where I was mostly in an office situation. I also went through body changes, and then into a wfh/field based position, and now starting with a new agency.
I am still figuring out what works best for me for work, but I am honing in on some things.
Footwear:
My summer based climate requires breathable footwear. I have hit on the hurache type of woven leather sandal shoes and will be increasing the variety of these. I also find the sandal bootie styles really work for me and will be adding more of these, as well. I added a light pair of booties, and a brown pair of combat boots this year. I think that both will get a lot of wear (the brown already do). I will probably replace my black booties next year with something better because they get a ton of use. I am ready to get rid of most of my shoes as none of them are a perfect fit. I have a hard time fitting shoes, and am finding that I can go straight from sandals to booties. I have white sneakers that I do wear and I would like to find one nice pair of shoes, but that's probably it. I have passed on my tall boots and will decide after winter if I want to replace them or just stick with shorter styles.
Pants seem more practical for my work, but I am really being drawn to skirts and dresses lately. I'm trying to keep a balance of both, while keeping versatility of my pieces in mind.
I am finding that with a good foundation of basics, I am craving layering pieces with more personality. I tried to build a conservative work capsule, but it just didn't feel authentic...and really, in my field I can get away with a little funky. So, I am building the funk back into my wardrobe with layering pieces.
I let go of all my white lace after I realized the color was really not good on me, and am working on replacing with off-whites (cream, ivory, etc).
I'm alsotrying to pick up basic tops in my colors when I find them because I get bored wearing the same ones over and over.
The biggest change in my wardrobe is that I have begun to be more conscious of what I'm buying as far as sustainability and ethics go. I am spending my budget on a single (or sometimes a few) item each month that is higher quality and made with better materials and practices. This should cut down on some of the wardrobe churn. I also decided to hang on to some of the pieces that no longer fit in case my body changes again (which it historically has done), so that I am not in the position to need to buy all new clothing again.
I'm experiencing a lot of returns/exchanges as I find new brands that meet my goals and figure out their sizing, but am hoping to cut back as I become more familiar with their cuts/sizing.
I think my wardrobe is in a pretty good place right now, and I feel like I have a good idea about the direction I'm heading.
