I like it a lot actually, very arty and bold. I prefer the version with the orange bag because, well, more color The top half would certainly look good with jeans (say skinnies+tall boots, or maybe BF jeans and flat booties). I'm going to be a loner in not wanting the fringe cut off, but then I'm one of the few here to leaves hers on; it appeals to my boho side, but it certainly would look sleeker without. In this particular outfit I like how the fringe echoes the trim on the skirt and adds a little extra texture.

Thanks for the ideas all!

Mimi and Suz - I hadn't thought about cutting the fringe off that scarf, but I see from searching here that it could have modernizing advantages and might be more versatile with different looks (hmm, I'm not sure if it will unravel).

Suz - I do have pale gray and pale blue jeans which I will try out, and a gray wool pencil skirt.

thanks Angie and Tanya, I will test out black and navy pants too (I have some drapey navy trousers which I haven't worn yet this year).

Firecracker - I actually tried this dress with a couple of more oversized pullovers, but it was a bit too volume on volume in a way that didn't look intentional. But a tighter top which gives a false waist and makes it look like a skirt is something I should play with more. I tried without the scarf but the peach is actually a really bad color on me (it was an online order which was supposed to be pale pink), so I usually wear it with another color at the neckline or open as a topper.

I like it--I think it's a cool look and I slightly prefer the orange bag, though I like both of them.
To me, the sweater looks like a pullover--you're wearing the cardi all buttoned up, I'm guessing? So the dress looks like a skirt, which I love. I think the outfit could work without the scarf, too. And yes, top half of outfit with pants like jeans. You've mentioned dark wash, but I would think medium wash could work, too.

Such pretty color together! I think the combo definintely works, with both bags. And as it was already mentioned, jeans, or black pants would work with it as well. Come to think of it it would look great with navy pants too.

A dramatic and arty outfit. Nicely done. You are ready for NYFW.

I like the idea of wearing the top half with jeans and either bag. Could throw in a pair of black pants too. Nice colour repetition with your hair.

(Cut the fringe????)

I love the top half and really like the idea of pairing it with jeans, etc. I also wonder about the cream jeans? Did you keep those? And do you have grey jeans or pants? (Or a skirt). Would be great with those as well.

Oh, I like it, minus the pink scarf, maybe if it didn't had the beard (I don't know how to call the drappy things). The shoes are terrific. The red oxfords would look cool too. I think is a clever way to use an otherwise bombshell dress. I might throw a few cardigans to my dressy dresses now that fall is coming You're very pretty!

Angie's ensemble was a color combination outside my comfort zone and I was intrigued. I have a kind of bombshelly dark red chiffon dress, with just the orange bag and pink scarf it didn't really work, and I am not sure about it with the peach cardigan (too much drape?). The camera angle is a little goofy too, straight on the cardigan is tucked to hit at the waist, and I'm not usually pigeon-toed :).

But, I discovered that I like the top half of this outfit plus the bags, and I'd never tried this cardigan buttoned before or with the scarf, so I want to try the top part with dark wash jeans perhaps with either metallic pointy shoes, dark red oxfords, or salmon converse. Any other styling ideas or suggestions?
