In running, we were advised to replace running shoes every 500 miles since the breakdown of the shoe would be disadvantageous to safe/injury free running. That would mean every 3-6 months depending on weekly mileage.

We don’t even think about how many miles we put on our regular shoes as we go about the activities of daily living, and they often aren’t engineered like good running shoes. Your sandals might just be ‘dead’.

Super outfit.

What a cheery outfit. I hope that either the sandals become more comfortable or you find a good replacement.

I'll give the sandals another chance and try some pads before I give up. I'm also going to look at the sales for another pair in case. I have this brand in some slides and they are still comfortable, so it isn't all me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one whose feet get more sensitive over winter. Certainly it's a shock to put on covered shoes for the first time when the weather cools in the fall.

You look fab, but lack of comfort in shoes is a deal breaker! I do think we can get more sensitive, and the other thing is, by the end of summer if they've been worn a lot they can lose a lot of their cushioning, but we don't notice because we're sort of used to them day to day ... but when we put them on fresh the next season, we notice!

Your red, white, and blue combo looks great. I find that with any shoes, sandals included, often the support or cushioning has a shorter life than the body of the shoe itself. I sometimes pass along shoes that look pristine, but just don't support anymore.

Great outfit--you look great in white jeans! This will be great for Memorial day too. I can relate about the sandals. I'm not sure whether it's my feet or that shoes just get worn out and aren't as comfortable after awhile. I have several pairs of sandals that just aren't as comfortable as I remember. I'm wearing them to see if my feet adjust to them--and if they don't after a few wears, I'll pass them on. I noticed straps rubbing--possibly because they have stretched out? I'm not sure but I'm thinking shoes worn with bare feet might not last as long as say, boots that are worn with socks?

Oh, and the SIP extension didn't seem like a big surprise so I'm only sort of disappointed. The gradual easing back to normalcy is going to take months...according to the plan I read.

Oh I am sorry about the continued sheltering and cruise. We are going stir crazy here even though things have loosened up somewhat. I don't know if the cruise industry will recover so fast - although you never know. You look terrific regardless!

Often the support shoes has can break down and they become uncomfortable, however feet change and lose padding or become more sensitive. We also used to have to “ toughen up” feet for summer.
, especially as sandals rub and feet that were co reed all winter develop blisters.
Love your red, white and blue and your hair.

Pretty outfit - love your white jeans ( good length and fit! ). The navy tank top has a perfect neckline - so difficult to find now.
Sandals are tricky after winter time. I'm switching between sandals
( short walks ) and sneakers for longer walks in the park for now.

Your outfit is very fresh and attractive. My feet are tender in Spring, after being protected by socks for months. After awhile, my feet toughen up and can take whatever I throw at them. Give your sandals another chance.

Angie, you may be right in that I'm just not used to the sandals after my feet being cooped up in shoes for months. I suspect though, that it's my feet. Some days they seem extra sensitive, especially the soles. When I can go out again I plan on seeing my podiatrist. He always has good ideas.

Thanks for the compliment on the hair. I looked in the mirror and decided it must have grown another inch in the last week. Maybe I will be relearning how to do updos soon.

Sal, the county is considering letting construction workers and a few others go back to work, and reopening our park. The yellow tape and do-not-enter sign have been torn down many times now. I've seen plenty of adults and parents with children just slip past it, not just the teens and young adults.

Sandals mean I'm going to have to perform a self-pedicure. I'm not as limber and I don't see as well as I used to--we'll see how this turns out.

You look great so sorry that the sandals are not so comfy. It can be adjustment or feet changes...

We just came out of Stage 4 Lockdown/SAH yesterday but Stage 3 is not too different. Takeaways, contactless or online shopping and most work that is not customer facing can restart (no hairdressers, nail bars, masseuse, restaurants, gyms, pools etc.. - and very very few children at school)....not sure how long this will last. My guess is another 2.5 weeks.

I think WA is sheltering for another month too. Our Stay At Home Order has NOT been lifted - for I think - most of May.

I LOVE THOSE JEANS! KILLER. Your hair looks beautiful too, MsMaven.

Yes. I get that shoes are comfy one season and not the next. Generally, it's my feet that get even more fussy. Sometimes though, I need to work in a sandal, loafer or boot again because I'm being used to wearing another type of shoe for months. Are they rubbing?

The word came yesterday that we are sheltering for another month. Also, the June Disney Cruise we were scheduled for just got cancelled. We aren't sure if the November substitute will even happen.
I put on a gold chain I bought last year to wear with my lesser worn pendants, but the clasp (both ends) is too big for the pendant opening. So I'll just wear it plain for today.

So--some summery items--warm sunny day. Blue Nic+Zoe tank, white NYDJ from last year, and a red Lands End card, with Clark's Cloudsteppers sandals from a couple of years ago. After walking around outside I took them off. They have been the most comfortable sandals I owned and were great for walking around Disney World 2 years ago. This year they are not.

Is it the sandals--are they worn out, although not visibly? Or is it my feet? I suspect the latter. Another pair of sandals I had on weren't as comfortable either.

I don't have any compunctions about wearing white pants in the cooler months--I just don't do it. Doesn't seem right. And by 2 pm PST I already have dirt on them. Glad I didn't wear the new ones yet.
