That could work too. 3) I like the belted shape but this may not read as modern, which sounds like your aim (I remember belting knitwear was a 'thing' in the 2000s) 6) I like the concept of fabric peeking out, & the leopard print contrasts more against the black for a more 'graphic' (edgy) integrity. Maybe a different print against the denim? Though I like @Brooklyn's suggestion - perhaps a darker coat on top could balance? So fun to experiment - why not!  The bike shorts look is fun. I don't know if I'll get cargos, but I bet I'd wear them a lot if I did.  Brooklyn--bold assertions, but you're right--the leopard does stick out a bit. I wish I found a different way to make it work, but I was just playing, anyway. I love the idea of a long coat (I think I have a knee-length one). I also have patterned fishnets coming in the mail. So maybe I'll give it a try! I would omit the leopard trim. Substitute fishnets for the tights (for some edge) and throw a knee length (or maxi length) coat over the top to reduce the seasonal confusion and make the layering more interesting. I like 6/7 too but would omit the trim. Do you have black tall shaft ankle boots (or knee high boots) that would close the gap between shoe and pants in 6/7? I think that would look good too. I would like to see the jumper over full length flares. Not strictly a volume on volume look because flares are usually fitted at the thigh. Kind of a Rachel Zoe 70s glam bohemian look, which is very cool IMO. It is a tunic length with an odd, tapered bottom.  Here are some things I tried... 1. with wider legged pants 2. tucked in 3. with belt--I liked this, though the belt is a little too small. I like the napkin-bottom effect it creates. 4. new moto boots I got 5. missed the photo with my moto boots, so here with ankle boots 6. with black culottes and ankle boots, and a sweater underneath with leopard/red trim 7. side view 8. with tights, bike shorts and ankle boots, and leopard trim 9. with tights, bikes shorts and moto boots, and leopard trim
