This is one fun idea - red and turquoise. I associate it very much with summer and I'll definitely have a go with this combo myself.

I'm a chicken when it comes to color mixing, so I admire your willingness to try something new. Looks fab!

Yes, they are beautiful together. I have a beaded greenish-turquoise stone and carnelian (somewhat similar to the color of your purse) necklace that I absolutely adore - I guess I should make an excuse to wear it more often. Like Elly, I'm also reminded of southwestern jewelry and in particular a very cool childhood trip to Santa Fe when I wear those colors together.

If it helps you, my glasses are both bright red and turquoise with no other colors to delineate. They go great. It is also an extremely common combination in pueblo and Navajo jewelery in the southwest combining the stones red coral and turquoise in heishi. It is a very graphic, striking, color blocked look. Orange-y reds do work with a true turquoise--- I look best in orange-y reds so that is what I wear and the two look fine. Two of my favorite colors on me.

Good question, Michelle.

I love red and turquoise together, but choose ONLY blue-based reds. Any red with an orange tinge doesn't work for me.

Today I spent much of the afternoon walking around town dressed in a pretty close approximation of the YLF birthday video outfit (black and white polka dot dress, grey bf jacket, knotted pearls). The only substitute I made was to throw on hose, wear black pumps and carry my new red handbag with the bow. I'm home for a bit before dashing out to meet a friend for dinner, and I intend to keep my core outfit the same...but such is my love for my new turquoise jacket that I'm inclined to wear it over the dress in lieu of the grey. I'm confident that pairing would work, but here's where you come in.

There are some colour pairings that are just hard for me to visualize. Turquoise and red is one of them. Are there certain hews of these colours that should not be paired, or do the two just tend to work in any configuration? I'm going to post pics of both the bag and the jacket, and I would be most grateful for your timely input on whether or not they can be worn together. If you say no, it's no hardship to switch things back to my new white bag.
