Diana, maybe try contacting Breakoutbras and see what they recommend? They seem to know their stuff.

Have you tried Glamorise? Their wonderwire satin seamless bra is my favorite.

Oooh, Astrid, I did not know that about US and UK sizing. That might explain why sometimes I can wear a 34D! I will definitely order a 34D then to try out. Thank you!

Do you have a 34C in US sizing? When you look at Figleaves you have to consider that Panache is UK sizing, so your 34C would be a 34D anyway and there are several non-padded options in 34D available on Figleaves.

ETA: I just realised I looked at the UK website, not sure how it is with the US one.

Hmm, actually I'm not sure Panache bras will work for me. They don't appear to make non-padded bras in my size (34C). Most of their bras are only D cup and above, and the few with smaller cups all appear to be padded, add-a-size type deals. Darn. I might try to order a 34D anyway since sometimes that works depending on the brand.

Any other suggestions?

I second the recommendation for Panache, I had luck with them myself. I would also look out for Cleo by Panache, they don't always come up in a search for Panache.

Alicat, thanks for the Bratabase link - I'd not heard of it before. Looks like there's a lot of good info there.

Elpgal, I'll be sure to check out the Panache bras.

I know that Panache has wider underwires than other brands. Poke around on the the Venusian glow site or 32dd forum on livejournal for specific recommendations. I echo Alicat's suggestion of Bratabase; it is a great site.

If you are buying online, Figleaves has free shipping right now.

To preface: I am fairly certain that I am technically wearing the right size bra. I have not been fitted recently but I know all my own measurements and have tried on all the various permutations of cup/band.

However, I always have the problem that the cups aren't wide enough on the correct band size, resulting in the underwire pressing on my rib cage in an uncomfortable way. I'm pretty sure the problem is that my rib cage is a lot more prominent/wider in the front than in the back, and my breasts are rather wide-set. My true band size is a 34, but basically I am more like a 32 in back and a 36 in front. Going up a cup size does not help things as the cups tend to be the same width, just deeper. Going up a band size does fix the problem, but then the band is way too loose.

So... anyone have any recommendations for a bra brand with wide set cups? I know I can get a 36 and have it tailored but I'd really rather not go through that hassle if I can help it.
