Good job shopping!  Mine are even shorter at 18", I believe. This makes it excellent with dresses, especially. To wear with pants I have to have an untucked top worn out.  You might be interested in a post I did really early on experimenting with proportions of jackets. RobinF the new jacket I bought is NOT a petite, it's  a regular size, it's just a really short style. If you look at the pic/find you'll see that it's hitting above the waist on the model who is probably 5'9". It's actually a little bit big on me in the upper body in a L, but I like denim jackets that way. (I usually wear a 10P or 12P in jackets) . And yes the fabric is really soft like well worn old jeans. I am very tempted. I especially like that you say it is a lighter weight. I find most denim jackets too stiff to be comfortable. Is it true to size? Petites often seem to run a little small all over. In my recent forum postings about some dresses, Suz recommended a cropped denim jacket as a topper and said that ON and GAP might have good ones this time of year, and Angie also suggested a cropped denim jacket or vest (repeating her earlier recommendation). I'm 5'1" so to find a denim jacket that would be truly short on me took some work. Part of the trick is to look at online pics very closely to see where the jacket length hits on the models. In B&M, you just have to try them on.  I visited an ON a few days ago and also checked in a few other stores. Suz is right that there are denim jackets available almost everywhere, but not a huge number of styles. Maybe that expands as we get further into the summer. I found a great one!   Pics 1 & 2  show just how short it is on me. Find  #1 is the new jacket. Length is just over 20". It is a regular size.  Interestingly, they offer petite sizing online, but with the exact same length! The fabric is a lighter weight denim (not a premium denim at this price point) with a few "destroyed" areas - on one pocket and the hem. I'm not a fan of this look but it's so subtle that I don't mind. And, it's on sale. I paid about 50% of the original in the store. I like it so much I think I'll get it in white too .  Finds #2 + 3  - These are the slightly longer jackets I own in two colors, in a petite size. The length is 23" THANKS to Angie and Suz!!!! Anyone who is petite and looking for a cropped denim jacket may want to check this out.
